Glaucoma:

Most cataracts are caused by natural aging. Old, dead cells build up in your eyes' lenses, causing them to become cloudy. When light passes through the lens to the retina, images become distorted and your vision is impaired.

Cataracts tend to develop slowly and can take years to mature. (I am sure they have)
An annual visit to your eye care professional can help ( does not help with a closed mind though, and decades of indoctrination) identify cataracts early on, but there are symptoms you can look for, including:
Cloudy vision
Difficulty seeing at night (how about the day also? :-) )
Halos around lights (and Democrats)

Double vision in one eye (Not both?)
Poor night vision (just plain vision?)
Light sensitivity ( Light? Truth sensitivity is more appropriate)
Seeing faded colors (Way too much grey)
