You got the facts exactly backwards. Also the NRA gets most of its funding from gun makers, so when they scare gun nuts into buying more guns and ammo, they make more money.

if you look at the progress the anti - gun people have tried to make in the last 40 - 50 years you might understand why people who own firearms are skeptical of people who want more laws and restrictions placed on them. the government be it feds. or local do not inforce the laws that are on the books now . so why keep pushing for new stricter laws which stop people from owning a firearm? the thing is , is that you people who support the new gun laws have been manipulated into believing you aren't safe. when in reality you are safer with people who have a permit to carry than with a law that takes firearms away from the people. there was a older bumper sticker out in the 60's or early 70's that read "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" which is a very true statement . the only people who would turn in their firearms would be law abiding people. the criminal element would sit back and laugh. look at Chicago, L.A. Atlanta, these cities have some of the strongest gun laws on the books. yet how many people are killed or shot there every year. because the people can not own what they need to protect themselves. but the bad boys and girl sure have what they want. give it up or die and then they'll take it anyway.

you two do not seem to see the BIG picture. the 2nd. amendment states that WE the PEOPLE have the RIGHT to BEAR ARMS, this is to protect us from internal take-over and from threats from external forces. which want to destroy this country as it is suppose to be. run by the constitution of the United States of America. not by the wishes of some wanna be dictator or communist or any one else who wants to ruin this great country.
