I was at a Promise Keepers event in Minneapolis. There were 98,000 Christian men there. Just men and it was one event of many held each year. The number of atheists is pitifully small and.shrinking constantly as they wake up. No one switches from Christian to atheist. It is always atheist to Christian.

30k is.nothing. There is one church in Texas with a congregation larger than 30k and they meet weekly.

No one is arguing the number of theist's out there and if numbers proved anything than you might be on to something. The one thing that is certain though is that atheism is the only demographic that is growing and that growth is coming at the expense of Christianity.

This trend "is big, it's broad and it's everywhere," said Alan Cooperman, Pew's director of religion research.

Christianity still dominates American religious identity (70%), but the survey shows dramatic shifts as more people move out the doors of denominations, shedding spiritual connections along the way.

Atheists and agnostics have nearly doubled their share of the religious marketplace, and overall indifference to religion of any sort is rising as well. Only the historically black Protestant churches have held a steady grip through the years of change.

As with conservatism it is made up of older people who, as they die off, are taking their religion with them. Goodbye...

Reason Rally in DC - Largest Secular Gathering in History

Although held during gloomy weather a crowd of 20,000 to 30,000 attended the rally!

This has to be one of the biggest examples of hypocrisy I have seen in years. Can you imagine Raylan Wolfe criticizing someone for reading right-wing propaganda. He has produced some of the most off-the-wall, leftist garbage in an effort to back up some of his preposterous claims and then has the gall to do this. It's my laugh for the day - if not for the week.

There isn't 10,000 of the godless freaks in the whole country. How stupid are these people, they travel to Washington and stand in the rain to protest there is no God,so they are protesting about nothing, they had a protest about nothing, that makes real sense to them I guess.

The main thrust of this argument seems to be that "more is better". However, that is not what the Bible says. Luke 14:22-25 Jesus tells the people to enter the narrow door because many will try to enter and will be unable to. At that last moment, it isn't going to make any difference how few there are. The electoral vote won't be of any consequence. At that time, we are going to be looking for something different. The first will be last and the last will be first. At the final bell, what is considered a treasure in this secular world will be of no value. If it turns out that Atheists outnumber Christ followers, that will mean nothing. It is only those who enter through the narrow door. This may be your last chance, my friends.

I had a brother who was brain damaged at age 4 and was classified as retarded. I take great exception to ANYONE using the term as a pejorative, especially someone such as you, Raylan Wolfe. My brother was ten times the human being that you could ever hope to be.

In music, the term is to retard.....slow down. I got my hands slapped by several piano teachers for not retarding.
Retard is a fine word.
Slow is wonderful.

I take piano also and agree that in music, it can be a fine way of playing & thank you for this but there is no way that Raylan Wolfe meant it kindly.

Why do I care what the idiot in the corner thinks or says?
Maybe he needs to take the dunce hat off and learn some English
As I grow older and am slower, I do not take personal offense from the word.

I really just wanted and was just waiting for the opportunity to put that guy in his place. I think that was a good opportunity & I took it.

I was just waiting for an oportunity to put that guy in his place & I jumped on it. Besides, I don't mind him calling me names but I do mind him insulting my brother by using it as a pejorative. My brother was a fine, kind & decent human being man. It pained me to see him ridiculed. He was 11 years older than I. He led a very compromised life due to his injury and I take umbrage for him memory.

I wonder if my friend Dawkins had something to do with this. What you see and read of and by Dawkins is only the 10% lying on the surface.

I also wonder if Dawkins is "In Search of the Divine". On some level of consciousness.

So, now you are bff with Dawkins, AND have spoken to the Trilateral commission.
I did have high hopes that you would be gone today.
Don't get me wrong here.
I respect your insanity as I do mine.

The trend I'm familiar with says Christianity is growing in the U. S. and has been on the.upswing since Obama began openly supporting Islam coincidently with the rise of ISIS, but the information is collected via all church denominations and could reflect reporting bias just as your sources could.

One thing I am sure of is that Christianity is growing at an increased rate world wide. ISIS has caused many to come to Christ in record numbers and interestingly we are seeing Islamics becoming Christian as they are being attacked by terrorists at home.

This information is compiled through reports from Christian missionaries in virtually every country on earth.

In my experience, the reason Christians, including mysekf, repeatedly discuss religion with atheists is because we are taught that to ignore those who do not no know Christ personally, is to abandon them and it is our nature to want all to have what we feel we have. Some Christians go overboard and vilify non Christians and I must admit that I become frustrated when someone tries to deny or box God in based on their personal logic and value system, bht I mean mo distepect until I feel disrespected. At that time my nature to defend comes out and I fire back. I suspect many of us could more thoroughly discuss matters if we were a bit less sensitive.

I should mention that in my former church, when Obama was elected the adult congregation numbered 270 plus about 20 youth and perhaps 8 teens.
