Orwell's vision of the future sounds much like what is happening now.

I wonder how much of his vision of the future was from reading the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion?

We can still call it vision. But he does warn against them. Thanks.

I bet that you do not know that Eric Arthur Blair, aka Orwell worked for the UK’s Foreign Office to combat Stalinism and during that time he compiled a blacklist of writers he deemed either “cryptos” (secret communists), “fellow travelers” (communist sympathizers), or outright members of the Communist Party. Norman Mackenzie, ascribed the list to Orwell’s illness, saying that the writer was “losing his grip on himself” in 1949 during his final struggle with the tuberculosis that killed him that year. His "predictions" are very dark. Indeed, I have to speculate that perhaps he saw the "flaws" in others that were so paramount in himself.

I still have copies of his books and ever so often I will take one down and revisit his "worlds." But, in the end I have never ordered a glass of half empty water.... I always order one that is half full.

Are you still trying to sell the debunked..... many times over, Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion? Anti-Semitic groups have been pushing this tripe for more than 100 years! And it is still used and promoted by such conspiracy-minded tin foil hatted folks like Texe Marrs, and (until his imprisonment) Kent Hovind. Although it was debunked as far back as 1921. Henry Ford funded printing of 500,000 copies that were distributed throughout the US in the 1920s. Adolf Hitler was a major proponent. It was studied, as if factual, in German classrooms after the Nazis came to power in 1933. And now, people like you are trying to once again sell this hoax, forgery to anyone that can take you serious.

Least I forget, Hamas uses it in all kinds of propaganda, from meme to full blown websites. But, you know this because you often use their information in your Anti-Israel, Anti-Zionism and by association anti-Semitic threads.

I have lived with Jews for years. Therefore I can't be considered anti-Semitic.

Unlike you, I don't live in la-la land and prefer to view a situation, or problem, from more than one aspect. It puts things in better perspective if one's mind is left open to accept particular events. Remember, a story told by one side is only half a story even if both sides are sincere. I prefer to make my own conclusions.

I think Orwell had you in mind Adolf...

All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting. George Orwell

You know nothing about me. So, do not even try to guess. Do not think that after reading a single post that you have any familiarity with my personal or public life. But, your response does speak volumes about you.

I do not know if you are anti-Semitic or not; frankly I do not care. I was addressing Orwell and this thread. At no point in my comments did I say or imply anything about you. I simply gave you a little known fact about Eric Arthur Blair, aka Orwell.

I promise you, I will not loose sleep over your opinion. John Green, a very profound individual once wrote: “The self-righteous scream judgments against others to hide the noise of skeletons dancing in their own closets.” Profound, don't you agree? Each time that I am tempted to jump on another individual and make a personal judgment without the benefit of a "history", those words dance in my head. It generally stops me in my tracks wherein I open my closet to see which skeleton holds the issue that I am projecting onto others.

And who the hell are you anyway? Look in the mirror and pass judgement on that self-righteous twit staring back at you.

Former KGB agent, Uri Bezmenov, was interviewed at length some years ago. He lays out the Marxist/Leninist plan to demoralize America through ideological subversion and political warfare. Here is a short clip You can find much more when you load this.

I agree with Bezmenov but I can see this same demoralization has been taking place in the last few decades but imposed by Capitalists. By insuring that the majority is kept underpaid and in fear, the populace of this country has been demoralized to the point where people like Trump are able to call upon the anger of those greatly influenced by poverty. This demoralization has brought about the separation of people for whatever reason (race, ethnicity, religion).

I've had the advantage of experiencing various levels of personal finances and, although I was born to poor working-class parents, I never felt I had to remain at any particular level. I was fortunate to have a mother who had faith that I would accomplish whatever I desired. Fortunately I inherited talents that also allowed me to live at different levels.

I do examine my thoughts regularly and the ONLY thing I have prejudice against is, not ignorance, but stupidity, which indicates a reluctance to change. I feel for those people who didn't have the wonderful parents I did who were always there to back me. My "different" beliefs did nothing to separate our family. I always question past beliefs and impressions and am willing to alter my own thinking when confronted with new ideas. That's what's known as "growing."

Hey -- the word came up in something I was reading today and I suddenly realized that I was an octogenarian! Not until today did I ever think of myself in that category. See - we learn something new every day!

***************************** br I agree with Bezm... (show quote)
Free market capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any other economic system. You are talking about "crony capitalism". Two very different ball games. The demoralization that has taken place in this country started in earnest with Woodrow Wilson. He is considered the father of liberal progressivism. Liberalism, and now Marxist socialism, is solely responsible for the subversion of American society. As Bezmenov says, it starts with the education system and works its way out from there. On to religion, law enforcement, labor, media, the economy, and so on.

If you were born to poor working class parents, what did you do to lift yourself out of that situation and that allowed you "live at different levels"?
