And you know this how? Salon makes no mention of the origins of its name on its website

Despite what some others think of you, I find your vocabulary is quite limited. Salon was the word used by the genteel around the turn of the last century. It was a very interesting and extensive era in literature.
Salon - : an elegant apartment or living room (as in a fashionable home)

alicia: Go back and get in bed with the libtard salon hyperbole!

I am aware of that definition, thank you. I also have knowledge of the combustion engine's points. I've worked with them a few times.

I'm currently working on an oooold Craftsman roto-tiller. My Pa died 16 months ago and all the machinery has sat in the weather since a couple of years before then. It fired and ran long enough to get it under some shelter. TLC time!

My definition of salon being a place where people come together to discuss is most probably correct. Do you really think it would be named after a hairdressing establishment? If so, Vlad, you're more ignorant than I expected.

So are most of the contributing writers at Salon. The readers even more so.

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss.

The time I learned about points was when my mechanic decided to teach me about what was under the hood of my old Mercedes 190. His mechanics were a nutty bunch and, along with learning, I had much fun. That old car was one for which the timing was gauged and adjusted by using a timing light. Do you recall the year? I believe the car dated back to the early 60s. It was the one whose speedometer rose and changed from white- to striped- to red. The guys insisted I wear a legitimate Mercedes car repair coat (which, on me, fell almost to the floor) which they insisted I keep along with the cap one of them insisted he could not work without. I'll bet you would have loved to have worked on that.

Also, why did you leave the tiller out in the weather for such a long time? Lazy?

Getting to you, aren't I. It's obvious since you reverted to more insults.

No offense, but you are not smart enough to "get to me." Don't confuse amusement with irritation.

I guess you are too stupid to understand where people gossip and talk politics.

Did I insult you? You are one nasty old hag
