Many who call for a constitutional convention to address their own personal gripes, fail to realize that the potential exists for other peoples gripes to come forward as well. Many would scream if the second amendment came under review for instance. But that is the risk if an existing amendment is subjected to change. Plus the never ending court challenges would take years.
But keep trying to encourage those who like simple, quick solutions.

I'm with you, don't even think of a CONcon with the present pack of rats in charge right now. They will trash the whole thing and put in the communist manifesto in the blink of an eye. We need to get some clean thinking, honest people in position and week out all the favoritism they have endowed themselves with. (bad sentence I know) But, you get the idea. I don't believe half of them have even read the constitution or any of the Federal papers to understand what this system is supposed to be. Reading the Constitution should be mandatory, they swear to uphold it, yet are doing everything to destroy it.

The Commonwealth of Virginia has a one six year term limit. They seem to be doing well.

Wait a minute, we don't want that right now. They will figure out some way to mess the whole thing up. Let's try to get things straightened our the way they are before we try to make such a change. I don't think I could stand 6 years of this bozo.

I here what you are saying but instead of six we are instead getting eight. I would have preferred just one four year term myself. One four year term drastically limits the amount of damage any one president can do to the country. Thats how two four year terms came about after FDR was elected president for the fourth time. The same goes for the congress which is really just a good old boys club that makes rules and laws based on for them and not for the good of the people.

Do you think four years is too little, or too much. There was a chance to limit it to four years, and we blew it. Just make sure that any new President is not so firmly attached to the teat of government largess that the influence is a little slower. Those that are already in the system, have an advantage. They know where the money comes from, and how to keep it secret. The new guy in the system has to learn it, and normal astonishment keeps him away from it for at least two years. Our only safeguard, is by a voting ban of taking them out ourselves.
We should never give any one a chance to establish this kind of fiasco again. We were fooled once, not again.

My name is Ilene Richman. I would like to start a 501c4 to have citizens draft petitions to limit term limits of a Senator to 2 terms and a Representative to 3 terms. In addition, I want to add a "no-lobbying" campaign for people in Congress and those who have worked for the federal government to five years. There is a swinging door in Congress and for people working for the federal govt. The door swings into being a lobbyist or starting an organization that lobbies and collects money. There is too much power in our federal government. Remember the Magna Carta in England that took away the power from the King. We need a Magna Carta in US that limits the powers of the President (changing any law he wants without legislation and called executive privilege) and Congress being exempted from laws passed for the citizens of this country as Obamacare. These people work for us and are hardly in session. We have to set a certain number of days that Congress and the President must work, as ordinary citizens that work 50 weeks a year. Are you with me? If so, please contact me through One Political Plaza to join my 501c4 organization for term limits, number of days legislators, President, Supreme Court judges must be in session and work.

Micha I am concerned about you worrying about the past. We can't change it, only learn from it. Use it to expand our experience so we do not let it happen again. All the things you twitched about are true, but we need to focus on preventing them in the future.

Have faith, that the Creator of all will inspire the right people to correct our path, or He will find a way to straighten us out that we might not expect. We need to turn from our wicked way. But these things are put before us to test our allegiance. Let us all sing from the same book.
