Great performance on one of my favorite songs from 'Carousel.' We could use more songs from great musicals :!:

Lets try this one by Andre Rieu just for comparison.

This is a little off the present topic, but have any of you heard "I did it my way" like this one. I find the Korean girl a good singer but the 71 year old drummer lends a lot to the performance.

I agree, Roy. It's similar to Sinatra's singing 'My Way' instead of Paul Anka, who re-wrote the original French song, 'As Usual.' Sinatra owned it, just as the old man did this performance. 8-)

Oh, it surely was Sinatra's song and nobody could top it. The Korean girl did it better in English than any other woman singer I know about.

Going on from the thread lets hear Andre Rieu do one that doesn't really fit him at the end. Notice the really great voice of the black young woman toward the end.

Now lets compare this one to the way the nuns did this one for the Pope in Sister Act, one of my favorite movies.

It is past time to talk about Alice Fredenham from Britain's got talent. She was so amazing singing in the old American torch singer style in her first number. I listen to her pretty often because of her style and looks. Here are two of her performances, one on Britain's Got Talent and the really good one on The Voice.

Alice mentioned Rita Hayworth as one of her favorites so here is Rita Hayworth singing in a movie.

As stated previously, Alice Fredenham's version of 'My Funny Valentine' sold me on her. What man doesn't like 'sultry :?: ' I did not understand her not getting a single vote on The Voice. I found it odd...as if the judges didn't want 'retro' style music.

My Dad often told of his early infatuation with Rita Hayworth. I certainly could understand it, even as a youngster.

I think you may be very right about what the judges wanted. She should have stood with Britain's got Talent instead of shifting to that half way group.

I was a early teen ager when she was starring in movies and the like but thought she was pretty special.
