I don't recall saying anything about no cooperation from others. As a matter of fact, everything hinges on cooperation from others, which from you I can readily see such will be nigh impossible; ergo you wouldn't want to live in the same locale as I would be in. In your locale, others would be like you, and you could help each other from dawn til dusk. I may be doing the same, but I would have a reason for doing it; whereas you seem to be determined to live for others regardless what THEY want. What time do I wish to return to? I don't wish to return to a time, but to a citizenry that was once civilized and is no more, as existed along in the '40's and '50's before the horrible decadence set in. I am sorely ashamed of how too many Americans today act.

Yes, because everything was peaches and cream back in the 40s and 50s, right?
It's clear that the old-timers here have no hope or care for the future. Just keep arguing left vs right when you're essentially saying the same things and don't even realize it. God forbid people learn how to cooperate with variant groups for the sake of a better world, can't have that now!
It's like someone mentioned earlier, citizens are bringing it upon themselves, out of sheer ignorance, fear, greed, and for refusing to rise above the dreck that passes as leadership in this country. All you do is emulate the politicians on cable tv with your "left vs right" meandering...
With computerization, robotics, advances in genetics and food growing, we have the potential to turn the planet into a sustainable ecosystem capable of supporting all...this is not a time to be saddled with an 18th century socio-economic order designed around the endless rape of the planet, based on the robber baron mentality and flawed with Unpayable Debt...our problems are systemic, not ideological. The obstacles, on the other hand, are indeed political. The funding and the resources are there. The strength and the will are another story....

I find that I can raise no questions to what you have to say here.

Through govt tyranny

While you & I disagree over the words we speak others fill the void with actions that present problems for us to over come.

Big companies pick our pockets in the market place & use the profits to control government. You cry loud & clear when that poor person on the street gets a few dollars that may have come from your pockets.

All the while there are others picking your pockets big time.
Including the money that went into the hands of the poor souls down on the street.

As long as you continue to believe that the poor & Liberals are the major source of your problems those with the most will continue to find better ways to pick your pockets.

I am in the same situation as you are. I realize that nothing will really change until people like you & I find a common ground on what will make things better for each of us.

We both see something is wrong put choose to look at a different cause.

China has devalued it's currency for a second day, if they keep this up, this could be the beginning of the dollar bubble collapse.

I hope everyone is preparing for such. It could be nasty.

Just what do we do to prepare our self?

How will we ever get the money changers to stop trying to get every last cent they can from us.

We do need the money changers but the cost we have to pay them just keeps going up.

I suspect that when the dollar crashes, dollars won't be much good for anything because they will have no value. They don't have much value as we speak. If satellites are not available for TV and telephone and/or if the grid goes dead, money, gasoline, food, will be difficult to obtain.....do you have a surplus in your home? Could you feed your family for a month on what you currently have? How much help could you be to your neighbors, and at what cost to your family? If people around you find themselves without food, water, gas, etc, they may well storm your home, others' homes.....people will go to most any length when starving or having their kids starve. How will you then help them if even you are not prepared? Many in my neighborhood grow gardens, have chickens, cows, goats.....possible future food if necessary. One of our entrepreneurs is working to put in a community garden, and several have hothouses in which to grow their food. We turned our sunlit room into an indoor garden Do city people have any plans, do anything to prepare themselves? We in the countryside DO. We are not hoarding, but are keeping an amount of necessities that may prove to be our survival method, barring someone killing us, for quite a while. We are saving some things we would otherwise be getting rid of because there is a distinct possibility that some people may have to barter in lieu of dollars. Women who have never canned veggies and fruits are in the process of learning how. Ain't life grand under the direction of politicians?

I don't know if the offer to live with my daughter is still there but I did not take advantage of it when it was offered.

She & her husband have 35 acres about 40 minutes away.

I am going to help with the gardening a bit.

At my age it is time for me to down size a lot. so if things fall apart I am sure that they would take I & my wife in. I wouldn't need to take much more than a bunch of clothes.

My mate and I are both 77 years old. He has 4 children, I have 4 stepchildren. He has 2 boys and 2 girls. I have 2 boys and 2 girls. We are not close with them, not because we don't want to be, but because of their life styles, their jobs, etc. We have told them that when the SHTF, to drop anything they are doing and head our way. Groups can protect themselves better than individuals, especially at our ages. Heaven help us all, thanks to Obama voters.
