The US was the only country in the world to oppose a resolution calling for Israel to be held accountable for war crimes, at the 29th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), held from 15 June to 3 July 2015.

The US voted against “ensuring accountability and justice for all violations of international law in” the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

US vote against “ensuring accountability and justice for all violations of international law in” the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

41 nations voted for the measure, including Germany, France, Japan, Brazil, China, and more. Just five nations abstained—the most high-profile of which was India, which is presently run by a right-wing Hindu nationalist government that spends billions on Israeli weapons.

This vote came just weeks after the release of the UN Human Rights Council report on the 2014 Gaza war, which documents possible war crimes by Israel, including the deliberate targeting of besieged Palestinian civilians.

Israel and the US accused the UN of downplaying violations of international law by the Gazan armed resistance in its report. Scholar Norman Finkelstein, nevertheless, argued that the report was in fact biased in the interest of Israel, calling it “tepid” and “unserious,” accusing it of exhibiting “rank anti-Muslim bigotry.”

This is by no means the first time the US has flaunted its utter contempt for international law in the chambers of the UN. In fact, it did precisely the same less than a year before.

AIPAC has seen to it that the great majority of those who inhabit Capitol Hill are pro-Israel. They will remain pro-Israel if they want to get re-elected.
Pro-Israel means they will support any massacres of Palestinians Israel chooses to undertake.

For more than 100 years the U.S. Government supported many dictatorships and abuses around the world for their own convenience, and now many countries are against the U.S.A. and we spend the taxpayers money in the Military Industrial Complex increasing the Federal deficit and ruining the country.

The phrase in red should be edited to read: "to enrich the privileged few."

If your neighbor constantly fires at tour home and digs tunnels to sneak over and kidnap your family or murder them, what would you do? I would do worst to them than Israel did to them.

Just a question, but did anyone read the report? If so, did you happen to notice who drafted that report? And if you read the report, did you notice anything missing? The links in the cited web page did not take me to the expected report, you have to go a few steps more to find it, but all 286 pages can be read. It is worth the effort.

Youre in denial. The fact that your nieghbors are seeking revenge on you means you've done something wrong. The jews stole the Palestinians land, home, and dignity. All the while crying that the BIBLE said they could. The bible says a lot of stupid things that good people won't approve of anymore.

What do you think the US would do if Mexico started shelling us? Do you think they would send people into Mexico to knock on doors to warn the population, drop leaflets, or send out a public message before we fire back?

Did you read the report?

Did you notice who drafted it?

God gave this land to Israel thousands of years ago and said it would be theirs forever. Even if you don't believe this. Mark Twain travel through there in the late 1800's. He said their was nothing there, only a bushes now and then. The Lord said, when Israel is not living in this land it will be desolate. In 1948 it was given to Israel by the conquering countries. When a country is conqueror it belongs to them. They chose to give it to Israel, which they did. A hand full of people from countries around, live there and Israel offered to let them stay. But, they wanted nothing to do with the Jews. So they left. Israel, dug irrigation canals, ditches and brought water to the land and today it exports food everywhere. When, the few people that wanted no parts of Israel saw this, they came back and Israel gave them jobs and treated them, the same as the Jews. Then, they said they were Palistinans and tried to claim the land and wanted Israel out. The Israel land was called Palistine all the way back to the Roman days. Their was never a race of Palistine people. These people came from all around the middle east.

jetson: You are sending fantasy posts in the Political Forum from the Holy books, GOD didn't gave land to anybody, was the U.N. who created the State of Israel in Palestine land in 1948, supported by the U.S. Government, don't use GOD for your own convenience, JEWS didn't had land or country of their own before 1948.

You need to do some research into the Bible.
