If you had served on the USS Liberty during the 1967 war, there's a good chance you would not be an Israel lover. There's an even better chance you would be disabled or dead.
Teaching standard American history as it has been written by propagandists is not admirable. If you used Howard Zinn's "A Peoples History of the United States" as a textbook then I would be impressed. If you used Major General Smedley Butler's "War is a Racket" to teach about war, then I would be even more impressed.
I served seven years in the Marine Corps Reserve during the period your ship was acting as a mine sweeper in Vietnam. I genuinely hope you didn't contract mesothelioma from all the asbestos aboard that ship.

The Warrington was on the gun line. It was hit by a friendly mine in 1972 and taken out of service but not before seven brave sailors died.
