I'm not a racist - never have been. My entire family was not racist, and where I grew up and more recently lived, racism simply did not exist - or if it did, everyone kept it carefully hidden. The only times there were any sort of racist problems was when the blacks from the larger cities in the state came down to our little town for festivities. THEN there could be some troubles. That was the exception, not the norm.

I truly believe that the inner cities keep the blacks stirred up as much as possible. I truly believe that were it not for "community organizers" such as our President had been, racism in this country would be all but dead. Call me naive, but I simply do not believe there is much difference between the races.

"Racism" in this day and age is merely a ploy to gain pity and profits, nothing more.

Were that the case Tasine, then Obama would have never been elected.

I have two primary homes. On is near a large town in Florida and it is full of black racist (It would be appropriate to use the "N" word if you want to). The other is a very small town in North Carolina and I have yet to see anything but black people; every bit as good in most instances as the Oriental, Hispanic and white people.

I respectfully disagree. Racism is THE reason Obama was elected. White guilt played a huge part, as was anticipated by the left. The ever PC media played to white guilt, and the Jackson-Sharpton mouths were busy getting the blacks lined up and kept as dumb as possible. Obama was put forward for the Presidency at exactly the right time in history - they could have run a black stump and it would have been elected, and as the next VP said, he was a clean and well-spoken black man. Now if that wasn't a racist comment, I've never heard one! Thanks to racism, it was overlooked because the LEFT OWNS racism and can do anything with it they please.

In normal places with normal people of all races, racism doesn't raise its filthy head, and I think that is because people are tired of it. I know I am tired of it.

That and the gangs....which I believe obama secretly backs...I mean why not, they are exactly like the rest of the thugs that run Chicago...where Obama came from and thrived as a politician. I grew up close to Chicago and I'm willing to bet there is no other city in theUSA as corrupt as Chicago. And a word to the wise, don't even drive thru the south side of Chicago...take the loop around it!

I have posted this on another forum. If you read it there, please bear with me.
According to the most prevalent theory, all humanity originated in Africa. I think I will start referring to myself as "African American," since, according to this paleontological pontification, my claim is just as valid as any black person who was born in this country, and has never set foot in Africa. The term is used to describe ancestral and geographical, rather than personal origin or, for that matter, race. There are millions of born and raised white Africans who are just as African as blacks born there. Concerning blacks born in this country, would not "American Africans" be more accurate? Because of the context of this term, my claim of African ancestry, while admittedly of a more remote nature, is nevertheless just as valid, and contrary to one poster's opinion, no more nonsensical than a black American's who has never been to Africa either.

I am trying to determine exactly what, as you say correctly, "white guilt" should be mine. We are into a second generation of Voting Rights, Affirmative Action and more programs to benefit this group then an individual can count on all their fingers and toes combined. It is a failure of responsibility to themselves if they have not achieved success.

Careful, lest you find yourself deluged with fiction masquerading as fact, and obscure or unlocatable references.
