I don’t think we buy products from Tyson but I know we will not anymore. Perry Iowa, town of 8000 is having to deal with Tyson laying off 1200 workers from their pork processing plant. Devastating for a small town and those AMERICAN families.
All is not lost though; if you’re an asylum seeker. Tyson announced they are a diverse company and will start hiring asylum seekers at their facilities.
I hope the courts stop this. Everything has gotten worse for AMERICANS under this administration.

I agree. Hopefully the Governor of Iowa will step in. Tyson needs fined and people prosecuted.

We have several beef processing plants here, and nearby. Tyson, Caviness, Swift, and, I think a pork plant up at at Dalhart. Prolly not an English speaking American on the processing floor of any of em.
We buy all of our meat from a local guy. And, there are more, and more of them popping up around here. We like our guy, and are gonna stick with him. At least, until he gets too big for his britches.
That happened with one we used for years. Took all of our animals to him for processing, bought his meat until he got old, and retired. His kids took the business, and sold it out to a chain convenience store here, and the quality took a nose dive.
There is a huge difference in the quality of meat you get from a custom processor who uses local animals compared to what comes out of those corporate owned plants.

I agree 100%. I’ll pay a bit more for local.

Tyson Foods
Our Brands
https://www.tysonfoods.com/our-brands

As it turns out, the very same Tyson Foods that manufactures our favorite dinosaur nuggets also manufactures chicken products for chains like Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, Popeyes, and Chick-fil-A. So, you're really kind of eating the same chicken no matter which fast food restaurant you choose to visit for dinner.
While we can't get into every recall or lawsuit relating to Tyson Foods, we can touch on a couple of the more recent ones. In 2021, for example, a massive Tyson chicken recall affected more than 8.5 million pounds of product, including chicken products used by Jet's Pizza and Little Caesars.

The same year, Tyson Foods was also forced to pay out a $221.5 million settlement after being accused of illegally fixing chicken prices over the better part of a decade. This particular lawsuit alleged that Tyson Foods worked with other chicken conglomerates to raise prices across the board, therefore increasing profits. Plaintiffs included major chains like McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, White Castle, Golden Corral, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Olive Garden, among many others. Ultimately, at least 10 executives from Tyson Foods and other chicken conglomerates faced charges.

To this day, however, groups like the Union of Concerned Scientists maintain that Tyson Foods has a "near-monopolistic" grasp on the chicken industry, giving the conglomerate far too much power. Hard to argue with that once you realize that Tyson does indeed stock almost all of our favorite restaurants.

We already do, fresh eggs, the occasional chicken when they get old and die. However, there is a downside and Margaret has gotten swept up in it. Almost 'addicted' to egg for breakfast every day, 365 DAYS A YEAR. I can take it sometimes, to me that's overkill. Eggs for other uses, fine.
