Rose, I'm not interested in changing peoples minds. Some people are just too fond of their deadly toys. They used to say that you couldn't change peoples minds about segregation. Here we are decades later, and the majority of whites have no problem with African Americans, even in the Deep South.
I hope and pray that some maniac that legally purchased an AR15 doesn't splatter my grandchildren's blood all over their classroom.

I am very interested in the state of people’s hearts and like you I don’t want to see more children murdered.

What makes you think AR15s are doing all the killing?

Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for Americans aged 1-44 years old.
Unintentional injuries include opioid overdoses (unintentional poisoning), motor vehicle crashes, and unintentional falls.
Suicide is now the 2nd leading cause of death for this 1-44 age group, and numbers of suicides continue to rise.
Homicide remains in the top 5 leading causes of death for the 1-44 age group.

You bemoan the gun deaths in this country, which are mostly suicides, and the murders which are mostly criminals killing each other, and get violently angry when someone objects to the murder of an unborn child that is late term enough to survive outside the womb. I don't mean first trimester. If you have not seen the proposed and existing laws that allowed abortion almost up to the time the mother's water broke, you have been too busy virtue signaling.

Those big, scary AR 15s you are so eager to ban account for less than two percent of those children's deaths. Lacking the stones to implement laws that actually work, you virtue signal by going after low-hanging fruit because it makes good copy and makes you seem concerned while you do nothing. If you had the inclination and ability to do your own research you would find that most mass shootings are inner city blacks killing each other. The murder rate in this country right now is thirty percent lower than it was when the last "assault rifle ban" expired in 2004. You can Google the FBI Uniform Crime Report for the official statistics.
Fact is, Liberals just want to ban something, rather than enact laws that work, such as harsh penalties for gun crimes, mandatory sentences and no plea bargains.
You must think the Constitution is a few pages of suggestions, you are so eager to change it, or ignore it, whichever is most convenient. Do you know what an ex post facto law is? In the US it is unconstitutional to make something illegal retroactively. You cannot force someone to turn in a firearm they purchased legally just because you change your mind.
