I am not arguing that. We have a very slight disagreement on definitions. I have a reputation to defend. I came here for a good argument. And Apostasy is not a minor infraction. Blasphemy can be minor. A sudden out burst of anger. Apostasy is when you deliberately renounce your belief system, such as going from Christianity to another religion or to atheism, which again is not a minor infraction.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is typically considered unforgivable. Not so with apostasy. Apostasy, from the Greek word apostasia, means “a defiance of an established system or authority; a rebellion; an abandonment or breach of faith.” In the first-century world, apostasy was a technical term for political revolt or defection. And just like in the first century, apostasy threatens the Body of Christ today. Joe Biden has compromised his faith & nation. Furthermore he has encouraged others to participate in the sins he openly supports. It don't get any worse & one is hardly ever recoverable at his stage of sin. He should have been excommunicated with prejudice long ago but his Bishop lacked the conviction to protect his flock.

I concede that the man violates his professed religious beliefs, constantly. However, an Apostate is one who leaves his Faith to betray it. A Heretic stays within to betray it.

Here is an example, just because I love to argue. Lets us say the Continental Army was a religion. Was the traitor Benedict Arnold an Apostate or a Heretic ?? Drum role. He was both.

When he conspired to hand over West Point to the British, it was from within the Continental Army. That made him a Heretic. When he escaped justice and later joined the British Army, he transitioned into becoming an Apostate.

Excuse me whilst I do some landscaping on my hill.

LOL - *I* understand what you're saying. We may not agree on much but it's good to see someone else stand up for definitive language. When people get so emotional that they ignore definitions to make room for the heavy guns of extreme slander... "three or four" becomes "a million", "sometimes" becomes "always", "bad" becomes "worst" and "heretic" becomes "apostate". Oh, and "progressive" becomes "Marxist" ;)

Give it enough time and people will stop understanding each other to the point of serious detriment. To borrow another fable from the Bible, the story about the Tower of Babel comes to mind. But if I remember correctly, I think it was presented as God's will that languages be scattered and towers not built.

As a humanist, I find that very disappointing.

Have you ever seen the Monty Python video about the guy who goes to an office building and pays a fee to have an argument ? That is me. I will argue about anything, but I must believe in what I am saying, although many times I have been sorely tempted to pretend to be on your side, only because I know I could do a hell of a lot better arguing that side than most of the Liberals on your team.

My compliment to you is that even though i disagree with nearly every syllable you write, I couldn't argue your case better than you.
