God knows your heart, but you are not judged by what you think, but what you do.
History is not written by thoughts but deeds. Therefore it matters not the mental state of the subject, but the state of their heart. It is the heart that controls the mind. It is the conscience that becomes the heart. And it is the conscience that makes a person a sociopath or not.
Thoughts may tempt the heart, but it is action you are judged on. And action includes inaction too.
Very interesting. I am aware of what I feel "in my heart " but I have never studied the phenomenon of conscience. Perhaps it is merely a less poetic way to refer to the "heart". I shall read.
But I find it amazing that when I feel something or know something profound "in my heart " it actually seems that the area in my chest that contains the physical heart is where I have the soulful knowledge. As opposed to empirical concerns that are no doubt all in my head.
