Do you really think they care what "We The People" want? Writing letters, making phone calls and sending E-mails to them have fallen on deaf ears in the past and I can't imagine they will listen to us now. I'll bet it will be business as usual in both houses for the next two years. It's the only bet I'm hoping to lose. We don't have two political parties. I've tagged them The Imperial Monarch of America. Until I see a drastic change in their attitude towards our country and the problems it has, that title will continue to be their's.

The first thing I want to see happen is for Mitch McConnel to stack a bunch of papers on his desk and start working through all the bills the house passed that dirty Harry has been sitting on. Whether they pass them or not, at least bring them to the floor and let the Senate decide on the bills instead of Harry Reid ruling by himself.

You're right Loki, let's just hope they act like adults this time. Don't expect any miracles, as they can only control the purse strings and slow Obama down. They still need to keep what they currently have gained, and then take the big prize in 2016. Hilliary was the biggest loser in this blowout, so The Dems will be scrambling to find a replacement...watch "Moonbeam" Brown in CA (Elizabeth Warren was also a big loser in this election).

We're going to see a lot of grid lock from now until 2016.

It's time to revisit a recent post. This is what the Republicans should do starting with their control of the 114th Congress.

Bill Whittle, as always, NAILS IT!

Too true, although I'm happy we have been able to slow the leftist agendas, history has shown it won't last long.

Keep your leaders accountable people!

Just a dose of reality. I'm happy too. I also have a good memory for how the Republicans screwed the pooch the last time they were in this situation. I don't wish to see it happen again, and witness a return to Liberal LaLa Land.

Good advice you proffered.

It will be an interesting two years. The President is now a lame duck and Republicans are in a position to govern. The question is: will they, and how?

There are two questions that rattle around in my brain. One, will Congress declare war on ISIS? Republicans ran on the terrorist issue and the Obama administrations' (mis)handling of the Middle East, so are they going to use their constitutional powers to change that policy? Or was that all just electioneering? Two, how will the two faces of the Republican party negotiate with themselves? You already pointed out role of the so-called RINOs to true conservatives so I wonder if the opportunity to govern will expose a rift in the governing party. Do the Republicans move more to the right before 2016?

I suspect another stalemated government is in the offing for the next term....and nothing will have changed.

You are correct.
Take a deep breath and sit back for the next 2 months and watch the blame game play out while the Dems implode.
When the new leaders are sworn in we need to see if they will roll up their sleeves and go to work.
If not, we will lose in 2016.

She is no RINO. Hopefully we will see her foot in some RINO asses. I understand she acquitted herself very well in her military service. I was referring to the likes of Lindsey Graham, and other "go along to get alongs." Republicans who are basically Democrats in Drag. As long as we are replacing Dirty Hairy, we might as well get rid of Boehner also, and get a Speaker who has a pair and a backbone to hang them from.
