It’s been just over a week since four students were killed and seven people were injured after 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley allegedly opened fire at Oxford High School in Michigan. Sandy Hook quashed the idea that any particular school shooting has the power to inspire Congress to enact common-sense gun reform, but one would think Republicans could at least refrain from going out of their way to glorify guns in the immediate aftermath of these tragedies.

They’d be wrong.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) on Tuesday night posted a photo of her four young children posing in front of a Christmas tree with military-style rifles. “The Boeberts have your six, @RepThomasMassie!” she wrote.

The Boeberts have your six, @RepThomasMassie!

(No spare ammo for you, though)

The nod to Massie comes after the Kentucky Republican posted a photo of his family wielding military-style weapons. “Santa, please bring ammo,” he wrote. Massie was criticized sharply for the photo, which he posted just four days after the shooting in Michigan. He refused to apologize. “I’m going to double down,” he told conservative radio host Todd Starnes. “I’m never going to delete that picture.”

Boebert, and her children, have his back. The weapons both families are holding in the photos are not hunting rifles. They are military-style long guns designed to kill people.

You poor dumb "person". The Second Amendment was not written to make sure you could go hunting, (although alot of people do all of their varment hunting with the AR platform rifles) it was written to protect the U.S. population from the exact goverments we have now. If it weren't for the 2ndA we would be in the same boat as Australia. With massive government overeach and dictatorship. How far do you think these Governors would go if thye did not fear their electorit? Look no farther than California and New York.
As for the school shooting. That's not a gun problem, that's a morality problem! If you add in all of the"common sense" gun laws they all want it wouldn't do a whit for gun violence. The ONLY way to curb gun violence in America is to hold the people doing the violence accountable and have swift, sure, and harsh penalties for those wiolint acts.
Go back the death penalty for murder...not one or two decades on death row with hundreds of appeals. It shouldn't cost more to put someone to death than to keep them in prison for life. Guns are not the problem. American morality is!!!

Making these kind of foolish comments do absolutely nothing to help solve this horrific problem! Every child that has murdered others in one of these school massacres have come from a dysfunctional family and/or has had some degree of mental problems………Guns aren’t the problem! But you and your liberal friends will never face this fact. It doesn’t play into your agenda of gun control. If you really were concerned with protecting children you wouldn’t support the mass murder every single day from abortions used as birth control.

The members of these two families in this article have no record of mental instability or of a dysfunctional family, that I know of, but because they support the right to own guns you portray them as “dangerous!” What an ignorant statement with absolutely no proof of this being a fact…….Just vicious gossip!

The best way to protect students is more armed defenders. If volunteer teachers were trained and armed a potential shooter would think twice before attacking a school, and could be quickly neutralized. Remember the church shooting where three in the congregation had guns, and one of them dropped the shooter.
We currently have armed police in many schools. An armed trained teacher should be at least as responsible.

It would probably be easier to put armed trained teachers in the schools than to get prayers back in the schools. We took guns to school fequently when I was in high school. Granted I was from a small town and we were held aaccountable for any miss deeds. There was never any thought of shooting a fellow student or a teacher (we did turn one teachers Volkswagon sideways in her garage). I still say it is a lack of morallity and accountability that is our problem today.
