proud republican,

our politicians appeal to this age group, so why not? And the schools make the elections like horse races.

It all appeals to a juvenile mind that way - I'd say go for it.

No.... Voting age should be raised to 30... And only taxpayers should get to vote... Also, no one with dual citizenship should be allowed to vote... Ever ...

Every branch of the US military allows 17-year-old people to join. At 16, some people will start thinking that in less than a year they can join the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and now the Space Force. So I say they should at least be able to vote for whom they want for their Commander-in-Chief....and in the country that they can sign up to protect and possibly die for.

Also before being allowed to vote, Living 1 month in North Korea must be a requirement.

Says a guy who falsely believes COVID is a hoax by a secret cabal, Trump was re-elected despite being defeated by seven million votes, vaccines contain microchips to control us and that human activity doesn’t effect climate and that Joe Biden is a communist. I think we have little to fear from 16 year olds voting, folks like you on the other hand?

Wouldn’t they also need to change their responsibility age from 18 to 16 ?
If the parents are still responsible for them until they’re 18 then that creates another problem.

Along with their IQ should be tattooed in the palm of their hand.
No one under 60 gets to vote.

Why don't we make it as soon as you get into your teens Kevy and make it 13? or 12? or 11? or as soon as they start talking?

So you would miss out on both points.

CD: Bingo! Our Founding Fathers only wanted individuals with a capital interest in this country to vote! Otherwise, the electorate could simply vote themselves the National Treasury!!!!!

The idea here is to encourage states to "register" 16 and 17 year olds, not to allow them to vote. It's a good idea to get involved in understanding the political process before you enter the polling booth. More current registered voters should be encouraged to do the same. I think that if all voters were required to pass a Citizenship Test, the Republican dream would come true. More people would be discouraged from voting.
