He was saying the direct opposite: "This alternative vision argues that ordinary men and women are too small-minded to govern their own affairs, that order and progress can only come when individuals surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereign." Obama has done plenty wrong. Making up lies, and most that are easily refuted, just undermines or weakens credibility.

Obama did say, "You did not build it." This is true. Yet taken out of context, just as are many Bible verses, distorted the whole meaning of that sentence. In context, I am sure that you would have agreed with him.
