Why is it that Republicans continually strive to make voting more difficult?

What are they afraid of? Or more importantly, who are they afraid of? These continued efforts through the decades make no sense if they believe their cause is just and for the common good. If so, they would welcome more voters, being the Party of the people. Yet so much of their effort over the years has been to suppress the vote, and every year at least three of their attempts are crushed by SCOTUS as being unconstitutional or racist.

After record turnout in the 2020 presidential election, Republicans in some states are already signaling they will pursue measures that make it harder to vote in the coming years.

The Republican efforts come after an election in which nearly 160 million people voted, the highest in a presidential election in over a century. About half of voters cast their ballots by mail, a big increase from 2016, while about another quarter cast their ballots in person ahead of election day.

The GOP backlash underscores how swiftly and severely the party is willing to cut off access to the ballot amid signs of a changing electorate. The baseless accusations of fraud that Donald Trump and other allies continue to levy about the election has offered election officials justification for passing the measures.

“There will be some states where it is very clear that the existing power structure is worried about their voters. And part of their job security plan is to make it harder for their voters to participate,” said Myrna Pérez, director of the voting rights and elections program at the Brennan Center for Justice.

Because freedom has a cost. Cost requires effort. Effort dictates accountability.

Why are leftists so anxious to give up legal elections?

Any simpleton should be able to figure this out
***Why is it that Republicans continually strive to make voting more difficult?
>>>Because they are trying to make sure the voting is more honest including only legally eligible voters at that location. They are attempting to prevent voter fraud, especially from the Democrats, but really, themselves.

The only people who should be voting are US citizens who are informed and who are willing to expend the effort to go to the polling place on election day. If they meet the qualifications but are physically unable the go to a polling place, they should be accommodated. The rest should go to Hell... or Venezuela, take your pick.

WOW: Michael Flynn Slams RINOs for Rejecting Martial Law

By

December 19, 2020

(Big League Politics) – General Michael Flynn schooled Rep. Adam Kitzinger (R-IL) after the anti-Trump RINO lawmaker suggested that the military could not be deployed to re-do the disputed 2020 presidential election marred with irregularities.

Kitzinger made a pathetic Twitter post in which he begged for a return of the Bush-era Republican Party that everybody hated and was regularly smoked at the polls by former president Barack Hussein Obama.

He wrote: “No. The military will not be “deployed” to re-run an election. It’s time for this to be shut down, and now. Gen. Flynn has lost his moral authority to be taken seriously, and the GOP needs to stand up to it. #RestoreOurGOP.”

Kitzinger is shaking in his boots because Gen. Flynn’s strength is starting to resonate with patriots in the Republican Party who have had enough of tolerating blatant fraud.

Big League Politics reported earlier this week about Virginia state senator Amanda Chase, who is an early GOP gubernatorial frontrunner, embracing Gen. Flynn’s martial law plan to hold a new election to replace the bogus unconstitutional farce that took place in November:

Virginia Pro-2nd Amendment state senator Amanda Chase is calling for President Donald Trump to declare martial law to combat voter fraud.

“The American people aren’t fools,” Chase wrote in a Facebook post aimed at “president-elect” Joe Biden. “We know you cheated to win and we’ll never accept these results. Fair elections we can accept but cheating to win; never.”

“It’s not over yet,” she added. “So thankful President Trump has a backbone and refuses to concede. President Trump should declare martial law as recommended by General Flynn.”

Chase explained how Democrats gamed the rules to essentially legalize cheating beforehand as they attempted to stage one of the most audacious and despicable crimes in political history.

“Here in Virginia the Democrats legalized cheating at the ballot box to win – all under the guise of covid,” she said. “The Virginia Democrat Majority repealed voter ID laws, eliminated witness signatures and allowed voters to drop off sacred ballots in unsecured ballot boxes throughout the state, destroying the integrity and chain of custody of our ballots. In many other states this would be illegal.”
.
Chase explained that she intends to fight back for her country against the corrupt swamp that is at war with the Bill of Rights and U.S. Constitution.

“I’m currently working with The Virginia Project and Sidney Powell to expose what I and other believe is extensive fraud here in Virginia. We need attorneys, auditors and anyone willing to help with the cause to reach out. We cannot allow them to get away with this,” she said.

The RINOs are going extinct and do not know how to react. They should just get out of the way as the patriot uprising takes permanent control over the GOP.

Of course the questions still remains. Why is that the progressives do not want voter ID when every damn thing that people need to conduct any type of personal business requires an ID EXCEPT voter ID? Of course why do so many Democrat run states continue to continue an unwarranted lockdown? DeBlasio actually came out and states the reason for this is the redistribution of wealth. Do all of our progressive members even know this? I doubt it.

Because Democrats are condescending toward minorities and think they need to provide a big government to take care of them.

What are they afraid of? Illegal voting - just as any normal person would be.

Sad that you have to lie about issues........but you tend to do that.

My first time voting was 30 years ago in Florida. One had to produce a picture ID in order to vote. Seems fair to me, No matter what you require – Social Security account, bank account, even employment application one must prove that he is who he says he is.Why should voting be any different?

Rumi is getting worse & worse with his complaining "I am always being attacked for being the messenger" of some bs in his mind which he thinks he should be applauded for.

His smattering of philosophical insight in the consuming of a Big Mac was a dreadfully extreme "appropriation of indigenous peoples' beliefs viewed from his "white privilege".

I am astounded he was not called out & properly trashed for his misdeed by other liberal/leftist on OPP.

Had a mildly conservative contributor made such a terribly hurtful mistake, he/she would have thoroughly trashed, called a litany of childish names & had their heritage duly insulted.

It is very simple, the GOP cries about voter ID, then makes it almost impossible for minorities to get it. But they wanted an NRA card to be acceptable. They close DMVs in minority areas, just like they closed voting places. The courts looked at some voter ID plans and said they targeted minorities. It is just like the sabotage of the post office to stop voting. The right needs to look at itself. They are not attracting new voters by trying to return to the fifties.

The major ‘minority areas’ are the large urban cities - controlled by democrats.

The answer to the question you pose about why progressives do not want voter ID is so obvious to nearly everyone except the mentally deficient. All you have to do is think about it for a few seconds. The chaos following this "election" should put the final period on that question. Only those who want to cheat are for no voter ID.

Republicans are eager to make it more difficult for ineligible voters to vote. Like some 3500 odd in NV who were registered and about half of whom actually voted. That was just the illegal aliens. Why are Liberals so eager to make it easier for criminals, illegal aliens, and corpses to vote?
