USMCA = NAFTA with a new label

If you tune into Trumps tweets and push your way past all the whining and bitching about the articles of impeachment you will find some chest beating about finally implementing the USMCA trade agreement.

Now back in September I did something I doubt any Trump supporter outside of Washington has done. I actually read it.

Then I posted this... NAFTA vs USMCA where I basically revealed the truth about the deal being nothing much more than the same deal Trump was calling a disaster, but with a shiny new label. In general, Trump won a small concession for dairy farmers but he lost the big "intellectual property" fight with Trudeau (who is apparently a better negotiator) and then there is the fixed wages proposed for the automotive industry that doesn't really secure a big win for anyone other than MAYBE the Mexican automotive workers.

The thread didn't even get past page one (LOL), probably because so few people actually care. But what happened in the months since then is that Pelosi refused to ratify the agreement as it was written because what little of the "disaster" Trump was able to renegotiate was so weak. Here's an extract from the Financial Times today...

Democrats successfully pushed for tighter labour standards, strengthened environmental protections and the removal of advantages for pharmaceutical companies in exchange for allowing a vote on USMCA in Congress. Ms Pelosi was able to extract enough concessions from Mr Trump for the deal to be endorsed by the AFL-CIO, the largest trade union federation.

Pelosi said the outcome is “infinitely better” than the original deal reached by Mr Trump.

So, I expect Trump will be beating his chest about this "fabulous deal" that HE made for a while, but for anyone who actually pays attention to the details, USMCA is a story of how Trump's campaign trail attacks on NAFTA led him to an ass-kicking by Trudeau, Pelosi and the AFL-CIO. But hey, they let him keep the name-change, so at least he can pretend it's the amazing renegotiation he promised.

You're jealous. How about you bum a sawbuck from your working girlfriend and buy a losers bottle, and crawl on in.

Or you might want to make cardboard sign, maybe get a puppy and head down to El Segundo.

The sign should be honest, something like..."Lazy Loudmouth Unwilling To Work Even Though The Man I Hate Has Made Millions Of Jobs Available"

So far, the only deal Trump personally made was with Chairman Un of N. Korea - and we see how wonderful THAT deal turned out.

Here's what Maddow forbids you to know.

The honorable Donald J Trump made his biggest deal ever, with We the People.

Even with Lucifers leftist minions opposing him at every turn.

The President has proven himself a true fighter, and We the People will reelect him.

Because we are pleased with the Presidents effort.

What the riff raff spews is inconsequential.

I would have given him credit early on for leaving it alone...now when he disrupts the hell out of the way things work he goes back to what it was?

I'll give him credit if he signs the frigging thing, so far his word means less than nothing, because if Hannity beats him up on FOX for caving to Pelosi's demands he will simply refuse to sign it.

I'll give him credit if he signs it, which is what a president is supposed to do. Credit for doing it...no, the house and senate came to a deal there, it's amazing trump was willing to get out of the way, except he really really needs to get something done with his do nothing senate.

President Trump plans on erasing as much of the Obama label as he can. The content of change is not as important as the name. NAFTA/USMCA is an example. As long as the Obama label is changed then it is a successful program. The democrats in congress, house and senate, are no better. If The President is for it then they are against it, The so called wall is an example. What started out as campaign promise became a major point of contention. Before it was a Trump idea democrats in congress were for it. Now it is an issue of a wall verses a border fence. The states get into the issue of states’ rights to determine who gets driver’s license .It not about who can drive legally but who can determine who can drive legally. Most of the disagreements between states, cities and the Federal government are over who has the power over the situation.

Obama wanted to change NAFTA into thee Trans Pacific partnership, TPP. Trump does not want the Obama name on anything. The USMCA is 70% to 90% lifted from the TPP. Content is not as important as the Trump label.

Yes, the president is a real fighter alright, punches himself in the face at every turn...
If you think he is honorable you are a reflection of exactly how despicable he is, honorable is a word that has nothing to do with him...ever. Give him two ways to do something and he will pick the most dishonorable and despicable way to accomplish it, take his trademark "style" of firing someone who has not agreed with him on policies...such as sending someone across the country using a government jet, and tweeting that they are fired and trying to say he can't use the same way he got there to go back. This is as chickensh.. as it gets and everyone knows it, and those in charge of transportation knew it and let him fly back on the jet he got there on, which of course ticked the vindictive baby off. What he brings as a trademark is a sense of petty vindictiveness that the country has reason to be embarrassed by, and anyone who isn't has no concept of what honor and integrity is.

He uses (actually abuses) the powers of the government to settle petty slights and disagreements in ways that are beneath the position. He has no awareness of how wrong it is to tweet and threaten and make threats that affect the stock prices of those companies and owners that cross him...in fact Bezos of Amazon is suing him for interfering with the bid contract process of the $10 Billion military cloud server, and it is a valid lawsuit and highlights impeachable offenses, based on the fact that he interfered with a bid process that has strict rules and regulations designed to keep a president or politician from doing just that.

You do not know who we the people is, you believe in your biased tribal mind that you are referring to only those who support this clown, you are wrong.

After watching the Intelligence Agencies infested with Obama subterfuge specialists.

The only thing that millions of Americans want Obama's name on, is a massive indictment of his betrayal of the oath he took before holding office of President of the United States.

LOL - I just spent the last two minutes trying to think of something to give him credit for. Honestly, he's the first president in my lifetime where I can't find ANY redeeming quality.
