Reflections for December 6, 2017

Yesterday, we went to a luncheon at Rugby, TN, just a dot on the map, off the main highway. It was like being in a different place at a different time, a time long gone. On the way there, I saw an old weather-beaten house almost completely hidden by bare, forlorn trees. It made me wonder about the family that built it, raised a family there, and eked out a living on the poor soil. At one time children laughed and played inside those walls, and romped through the woods. At one time it was alive with a family.

Many of us could relate to that old house. We've traveled a countless number of miles, some were pretty rough roads, and some paved highways. The rough roads included the heartbreak of loss, and illness, but also the joys of accomplishments, and additions to the family. Our children grew up playing, and fighting, but always loving each other. Job opportunities, and moves came our way. Always changes, always moving forward in time. Now we've reached the time to reflect, to appreciate the long trek through the forest of time.

From as far back as I can remember, through all the hills and valleys of life, my Rock has been my faith in the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. That too, has been like an old house, a house built on a firm foundation, built with rock and mortar, and tuck pointing for maintenance. It has weathered changes, additions, and upgrades, but always the basic house has stood the test of time. It has been my home, my strength to face the world and forge onward. Thank You, Dear Lord, for always being there, and may He be there for you as well. Amen

After this month, I will be leaving OPP. Other commitments have come up that I feel a necessity to devote my time to. It's been an enjoyable ride, but it is time for me to move on. My prayers and love goes out to all of you, thank you for being 'My Buddy.'

I caution all those who read this post, this describes how a person who was shot felt like before he died. Such a sad story. My heart, my prayers, and my sympathy go out to Chris, and all those who lost their lives October 5, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV.!

This Psalm is dedicated to the Memory of Christopher Roybal , 37 of 58 murdered in Las Vegas, Nevada. October 5, 2017.
"In the name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,"
Amen!
Remember these people as a group of people who were enjoying life, and became saints.

The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked
A Psalm of David
Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.
For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
But it shall be no more.
But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees that his day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword
And have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To slay those who are of upright conduct.
Their sword shall enter their own heart,
And their bows shall be broken.
A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous.
The Lord knows the days of the upright,
And their inheritance shall be forever.
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
But the wicked shall perish;
And the enemies of the Lord,
Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.
Into smoke they shall vanish away.
The wicked borrows and does not repay,
But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth,
But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.
He is ever merciful, and lends;
And his descendants are blessed.
Depart from evil, and do good;
And dwell forevermore.
For the Lord loves justice,
And does not forsake His saints;
They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
The righteous shall inherit the land,
And dwell in it forever.
The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,
And his tongue talks of justice.
The law of his God is in his heart;
None of his steps shall slide.
The wicked watches the righteous,
And seeks to slay him.
The Lord will not leave him in his hand,
Nor condemn him when he is judged.
Wait on the Lord,
And keep His way,
And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
I have seen the wicked in great power,
And spreading himself like a native green tree.
Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more;
Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.
Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;
For the future of that man is peace.
But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;
The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.

Psalm 37:1-40
These are the words of David, King of Israel
This Psalm is dedicated to the Memory of Christopher Roybal , 35th of 58 murdered in Las Vegas.
Christopher Roybal, 28, worked at a gym in North Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Christopher Roybal, 28, was a general manager at a Crunch gym in North Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was known there for his "big teddy bear smile and infectious laughter," said David Harman, managing partner at Crunch.
"More than a team member, we lost someone who was a son, mentor, friend and hero, as a Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan," Harman said.
Ryan Chiaverini, Roybal's former brother-in-law, told CNN that Roybal was attending the concert with his mother to celebrate his 29th birthday. He had a really good sense of humor and had a "fun, sweet, innocent way about him," Chiaverini said.
In a Facebook post from July, Roybal poignantly reflected on what it's like being shot at from his time overseas.
"My response has always been the same, not one filled with a sense of pride or ego, but an answer filled with truth and genuine fear/anger," he wrote.
He said his first fight was something he'd never forget. He felt sensory overload and extreme adrenaline, making him "excited, angry and manic." But as the fights continued, the excitement faded, leaving just the anger, he wrote.
"What's it like to be shot at? It's a nightmare no amount of drugs, no amount of therapy and no amount of drunk talks with your war veteran buddies will ever be able to escape," he wrote. "Cheers boys."
Eternal rest, grant unto our brother, Christopher Roybal, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

"In the name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,"
Amen!
I ask my fellow faithful countrymen to refrain from negative comments for 25 days, while this memorial is going on. Thank you. Please pray as you always have.

A young life cut short by a wicked man. What drove this maniac to wantonly take the lives of innocent people? Was it gambling debt, was he angry at the world for his own actions? We will never know, but we will continue to pray for those whose lives he cut short, pray for their families, and for the trama it caused all of the concert goes. Bless them dear Lord, with Your presence and comfort those left behind. Amen

Reflections for December 7, 2017

Today, this date, how can I write other than about the sneak attack in Hawaii, by the Japanese. They sent bombers, fighter planes, and torpedo planes to attack the U.S. naval base there. I remember listening to Franklin Roosevelt declare we were at war. It was a war effort everyone got behind, patriotism seemed to run in our blood.

As a young girl, I remember collecting Lucky Strike packages to peel the aluminum foil out and roll it into balls. My mother took the aluminum balls to wherever they were to go for recycling. Rosie the Riveter became in fashion, everyone pulled for the war effort. Manufacturing ballooned, and people were making more money than they had ever thought possible.

A Japanese General was quoted as saying, "We have awakened a sleeping giant!" That strong sense of patriotism, the sense of God, country, family rang loud and clear, no blurred lines back then. We believed God was on our side, as we had been fully unprepared for war. So many have drifted far away, forgotten the sacrifice, it is time to return to our knees and pray. Dear Lord, we pray that You will once again place Your protective hand over our land. Amen

Prayer in Time of Chastening
A Psalm of David. To bring to remembrance.
O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure!
For Your arrows pierce me deeply,
And Your hand presses me down.
There is no soundness in my flesh
Because of Your anger,
Nor any health in my bones
Because of my sin.
For my iniquities have gone over my head;
Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
My wounds are foul and festering
Because of my foolishness.
I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly;
I go mourning all the day long.
For my loins are full of inflammation,
And there is no soundness in my flesh.
I am feeble and severely broken;
I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.
Lord, all my desire is before You;
And my sighing is not hidden from You.
My heart pants, my strength fails me;
As for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me.
My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague,
And my relatives stand afar off.
Those also who seek my life lay snares for me;
Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction,
And plan deception all the day long.
But I, like a deaf man, do not hear;
And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.
Thus I am like a man who does not hear,
And in whose mouth is no response.
For in You, O Lord, I hope;
You will hear, O Lord my God.
For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me,
Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me."
For I am ready to fall,
And my sorrow is continually before me.
For I will declare my iniquity;
I will be in anguish over my sin.
But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong;
And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.
Those also who render evil for good,
They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.
Do not forsake me, O Lord;
O my God, be not far from me!
Make haste to help me,
O Lord, my salvation!

Hannah Ahlers, 34, was a mother of three who had lived in California for years.
Brian Ahlers told CNN his wife of 17 years was "shot in the head while dancing" with him at the music festival.
Hannah Ahlers, 34, was a stay-at-home mom of three who had lived in Beaumont, California, for the last five years, but was originally from Redlands.
"She was a full-time house wife and mommy and she was amazing at it," he said. "Very active in moms groups and our daughter's volleyball team. She wasn't too good for anybody. Beautiful inside and out."
Ryan Chiaverini, who was friends with Ahlers, told CNN that "she couldn't hurt a fly."
"She was one of the kindest people I've met," he said.
Eternal rest, grant unto our sister, Christopher Roybal, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

"In the name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,"
Amen!
I ask my fellow faithful countrymen to refrain from negative comments for 25 days, while this memorial is going on. Thank you. Please pray as you always have.

Remember these people as a group of people who were enjoying life, and became saints.

Prayer in Time of Chastening
A Psalm of David. To bring to remembrance.
O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure!
For Your arrows pierce me deeply,
And Your hand presses me down.
There is no soundness in my flesh
Because of Your anger,
Nor any health in my bones
Because of my sin.
For my iniquities have gone over my head;
Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
My wounds are foul and festering
Because of my foolishness.
I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly;
I go mourning all the day long.
For my loins are full of inflammation,
And there is no soundness in my flesh.
I am feeble and severely broken;
I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.
Lord, all my desire is before You;
And my sighing is not hidden from You.
My heart pants, my strength fails me;
As for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me.
My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague,
And my relatives stand afar off.
Those also who seek my life lay snares for me;
Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction,
And plan deception all the day long.
But I, like a deaf man, do not hear;
And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.
Thus I am like a man who does not hear,
And in whose mouth is no response.
For in You, O Lord, I hope;
You will hear, O Lord my God.
For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me,
Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me."
For I am ready to fall,
And my sorrow is continually before me.
For I will declare my iniquity;
I will be in anguish over my sin.
But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong;
And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.
Those also who render evil for good,
They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.
Do not forsake me, O Lord;
O my God, be not far from me!
Make haste to help me,
O Lord, my salvation!

Reflections for December 8, 2017

The parable of the fig tree: The generation alive during End Times will witness the budding of the fig tree. President Trump has announced the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and he has begun the process of moving the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv. The fig tree began to bud on May 14, 1948 with the recognition of the State of Israel. The Lord displayed His power in the 1967 Six Day War, when caught on a holy day Israel's enemies came against them, but God prevailed for Israel to crush their enemies in just SIX DAYS (and He rested on the seventh).

Will this be the beginning of the end? Words from the Bible, first on coming against the land of Israel: Zechariah 12:3 "On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves." Second words blessing those who bless God's people: Genesis 12;3 "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Beware, the time is coming Matthew 24:44 “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Now, we have the whole world turning its attention to Israel. Iran and Saudi Arabia are on the verge of war. Russia and China have signed a pact. Iran has achieved nuclear status, and has voiced its desire to wipe Israel off the map. Genesis verse makes me think that is why we were blessed by the Lord to have Trump win, he is for Israel. The Lord often picks imperfect men to accomplish His work. Matthew 25:1-13 there were ten virgins, but only five were prepared, and when the bridegroom called, they trimmed the wick, and filled their lamp with oil to go meet Him. Are you prepared? Dear Lord, we pray for Your blessings. Amen
