Trumps abandonment of the valiant Kurds is a stain on the American conscience.

It is barely credible that the Kurds whom with we partnered to contain and destroy ISIS, who sacrificed 11,000 fighters in this cause, who trusted us to do right by them would be so carelessly tossed aside like so much disposable fodder. Barely credible in a human decency context but quite believable from a man who has shown such callous disregard for fellow humans in his thirst for autocracy and personal aggrandisement.

Greenlighting Erdogan to attack without warning, withdrawing American troops in the service of the specious notion of "bringing our boys home" then sending 2000 more troops to help defend Saudi Arabia has bought him well deserved bipartisan shaming.

Tell me President Trump, how many Saudi troops were at Normandy?

Partnered with? Nope..Used... Usefulness is over...
Sacrificed? Nope... They had their own reasons for fighting ISIS... Wasn't a sacrifice...
Trusted you? Nope... The Kurds used you just like you used them... It was mutually beneficial...Until it wasn't...

Human decency? Would it have been more decent to allow your boys to die with the Kurds?
Thirst for autocracy? Snort...

Without warning? Everyone knew... And put in their two sense...
I agree... The notion was specious...

There is a larger end game in play, be patient. Turkey has no business being in NATO under their current dictatorship.

About as many Saudi troops as Kurdish at Normandy, I suspect.

I agree with you. I bet most folks do not know just how long we have been involved with Syria....in 1946 the US began to "stabilize" the area, by that I mean the CIA tried to nudge General Husni al-Za’im into staging a military coup against President Shukri al-Kuwatli. He did so, but didn’t last too long, being overthrown by Col. Sami al-Hinnawi, who was overthrown by Col. Adib Shishakli. All of this happened within nine months. Turns out we weren't that great at promoting stability in the Middle East back then, either. A rinse and repeat, 1957, 1967, 1970, and we all know about beyond 2000.

What I am saying, it does not matter how much blood is spilled or money pumped into this portion of desert, nothing will change. We have been trying to buy their respect for 74 years, there is never be a "good" time to sever a bad relationship....but there comes a time to walk away from unwinnable and endless war.

It seems protecting US troops fell a little short...................since Turkey's artillery fell a little long.

What does it say about our character as a Nation, when we make promises we don't intend to keep? How many young people did we deport, who faithfully served this country as a member of our Armed Forces, who were promised citizenship?

The Liar-in-chief leading a country of liars, while a plethora of people willingly offer excuses for lying.

How could a non-citizen serve in the armed forces?

Promised by who?

This is the first I have heard of it

Promised by the Pentagon. If this is the first you've heard of this, I can only assume you've been in a coma for the last 2 years. I'm glad to see that you recovered.

The Pentagon promised illegals citizenship if they served?

I feel like I have been in a coma

Yep. When I heard that they were allowing non citizens to serve, saying that I was shocked would be an understatement. How do we accept the oath to serve, from someone who has no rights in this country?

Beyond whatever goofy rationale they came up with for this scheme ( some were offered this as a way to avoid deportation ), the kids were promised an expedited path to citizenship upon satisfactory completion (Honorable discharge ) of military service.........................then were deported anyway.
