Four square blocks of secure hi-risers of apartments and businesses with an inner community area that includes schools, shopping malls, entertainment centers, recreation areas, clinics, sports fields, bike paths and botanical gardens, and anything else to make it a complete--repeat, complete--neighborhood. No need to leave for the usual city life. All enclosed.

The street part of the complex can only be entered through a limited and tightly guarded checkpoints with armed security personnel and hi-tech security. The lower five floors facade provides no access but acts as defensive high ground from attack. Five feet of reinforced concrete. Essentially, a return to the atavistic Fiefdom, subject to whatever rule of the owners. His or her largess.

This is what the continued fear and hate spread by the Right will produce, or something like it. Teachers, theater ushers, circus clowns, fast food workers, and crossing guards armed to the teeth. Check points at the entry to anywhere, like church and yoga classes. More guns, more guns, more guns.

Sorry, just blowing off some steam. But truly hate where we seem to be headed with the Right so adamantly against real gun control. It is beyond reason and decency and an assault on we the people.

A lot safer than liberal's gun free zones. Gun control only affects the law abiding citizen. Doesn't Chicago teach you anything?

Let me ask you this: you're a young teenager living on the border between a state where it is 18 to drink and your state where it is 21: how much does that discourage drinking?

Rumi,
Please explain. You can cross a state line to buy whiskey. You cannot cross a state line to buy a gun. You can pay for the gun & have it shipped to a registered gun store in your state for a fee. You have to pass background check where you paid for gun & again where you pick it up. If you found a gun on sale in IN for $100.00 less than you could buy it in IL, by the time you got it, you would have paid at least $50.00 more than you could have bought it for in IL.

PR is talking about gun possession laws in Chicago & she is right, they are strict, but Chicago is run by
Leftist/Liberals who do not want to stop the killings so they have an ongoing gun control forum. I used to have to work in Chicago Heights, don’t try to convince me more gun control laws will make any difference. I put up 12’ fences w/ razor wire on top & still had people trying to run through the fence in stolen cars & trucks to steal equipment.

"This is what the continued fear and hate spread by the right will produce..."

Wrong, this is what the increasing crime, terrorism and rampant homelessness fostered by Democrat policies will create, pure and simple, but you lefties will blame your destructive policies, negligence, malfeasance and downright treachery to your own country on the very people who have tried to prevent what you will have caused.

All you're doing in this post is blaming the wrong side in advance.

But that's the way it's always been, right? The Democrats push a lot of feel-good Utopian bullshit on the rest of us without even trying to see how it will end up somewhere down the road because it will get the vote of some niche interest or other now, then when it comes back to bite the entire country in the hindquarters, you blame it on Republicans.

Pitiful, just pitiful...
