If you aren't going to define things accurately, then why aren't you satisfied with how "socialist" America is already? Just like Scandinavia, there are federal, state, and local social programs that provide housing, food, medical, transportation, education and other help for those in need. Most of these are breeding grounds for mismanagement, fraud, and waste. But they're there and many millions of people are helped by them. Our question (we taxpayers) is when is it enough? Are we there yet? And the answer always seems to be - nope. Well, it's about time people took a little more responsibility for themselves. Maybe Democratic Socialists aren't ready to draw the line, but we sure as heck are.

While we have disabled and elderly deciding between food and meds, and highly intelligent young people who canโ€™t afford higher education, weโ€™re not there yet.

And unless you plan on pulling those of us who are paying for all that back into the pack with them we aren't going to get to whatever alternate universe you think that kind of society exists. If we actually were helping JUST THOSE IN REAL NEED, there might be a sliver of a chance. But you guys keep expanding the "needy pool". Why don't you get yourself a virtual reality headset, plug in the "Everything Is Awesome" disk and stop whining about stuff - or better yet, get off your ass and go out and solve some of these problems you think exist yourself.

Actually the takeaway that was most telling was Trump's warning to the Democrats to stop investigating him and his family or there will be no further legislation. King Donald has spoken.

I have the entire State of the Union on disk. We have played it a dozen times. (The eastern glassed in porch serves my office) only 20 to 25 people can set confortable and watch the big screen TV.

No where did the President warning anyone to stop investigating him or his family. You are taking what he said out of context. Trpical Socialist Democrat ploy.

I agree my 40+% income tax was $335,689.50 and I am 80 years young with 200 employee dependants.

With all the agencies that handle money to help the needy, elderly, welfare and other types of help are 90% run by obama hired unqualified democratic workers.

For every dollar spent it cost the taxpayers $5.00. This must stop.

As the article states, they are social democracies - which is different from democratic socialism.

The difference between a 'social democracy' and a 'socialist dictatorship' is that those who are subject to the socialist diktats in a socialist democracy are led to believe that they have some kind of say in who holds the reigns of power. They're more easily 'led' that way, and it's easier to convince them that they are being adhered to by their government. It's still socialism, no matter how you try to sugar-coat it.

They also don't have the number of citizens to provide for that we so in this country.

Damn sure he won't. I didn't post it for him, I posted it for everyone to see what a fool he is. The worst thing you can do to someone like him is point out his comments for humor and ridicule. He thoroughly deserves it.

You trumpies slay me. You hear just what you want to hear. Everyone else heard it as a warning. There was a collective gasp in the House when he said it.

"An economic miracle is taking place in the United States โ€” and the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics, or ridiculous partisan investigations."

"If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation," he continued. "It just doesn't work that way!"

"[T]he only thing that can stop it..." Oh, yeah, definitely a warning, but not the kind of warning you wanted it to be. I heard the trope that it's like Nixon and Watergate all over again, where he's trying to stop the investigation before it unearths his own wrongdoing. The Watergate investigation lasted 26 months from the time the 'plumbers' were arrested up until Nixon's articles of impeachment were approved in the House Judiciary committee. He resigned before impeachment proceedings were begun. The Mueller investigation has been ongoing since July of 2017, and has produced not one iota of evidence to tie the President to any wrongdoing whatsoever, or anyone else, for that matter. The only 'victory' on Mueller's witch hunt record is down to what are known as 'process crimes'. In other words, he found people he could bamboozle then charge with lying or using misleading statements. Definitely not your granddaddy's Watergate saga.

What he really said, in plain language, was the "foolish wars, politics," and "ridiculous partisan investigations" are throwing a wrench in the efforts to rebuild the American system to where it needs to be, but that's not what you were programmed with both before and after he said it, so you hear what you were supposed to hear and disregarded the actual wording and obvious intent. You won't hear that either, will you?
