Cinco d Mayo is not a Mexico holiday. It is not celebrated in Mexico only in the US and especially in California with is large indigenous Hispanic population. There are more than 350,000 farm workers in California 78 % of then are Hispanic and they have the lowest income of any occupation. 69 % have no high school degree. The children in the family often time shave to work alongside their parents to make enough to feed the family. 40 % have no health insurance. 69 % are non citizens. 78 % are males California's $44 billion agricultural industry faces a worsening labor shortage as farm workers age more return to Mexico and fewer new migrants arrive to replace them.

The states farming workforce is aging and shrinking from stricter immigration enforcement. an improving economy in Mexico and the lack of interest in field work among children. Basically were running out of low skilled workers. But it's not migrants that celebrate Cinco d Mayo it's American citizens that celebratre ther Heritage and Culture. We have tried to squeeze the culture, language, religion, tradions out of Native Americans but many indian nations have clung to there traditions and dexpress them selves in their pow wows and I say more power to them

I worded that wrong.. it's that this one child was reading the bible in class during off time.. and the teacher told her she could not read that. But I would be willing to bet if it had of been a Quran .... she would have never said a word.

Didn't our President use both Bibles when he took the Oath... the US Bible and the Quran?
