It really is hilarious how stupid Republicans can get these days. Check this idiot out... Matt Rosendale is running for one of Montana's senate seats. Here's a shot of him taken from a campaign ad where he says he stands for gun rights based on Article II of the Constitution. Ha, ha, haaaah! I mean the picture alone says it all.

For the Republicans out there... Article II is the part of the constitution that establishes the executive branch of the federal government. The right to bear arms is the 2nd Amendment to the constitution. 'Not the same thing.

As if that isn't bad enough, you KNOW he had an entire crew involved in shooting this ad and NONE of them caught the enormous mistake. Nor did anyone on his staff. So are they ALL that stupid? What's sad, is that it probably doesn't matter because none of the people that would vote for him would know any better either.

Not only that................they got the quote wrong. Being necessary for the security of the States..............well regulated militia..................the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon. "Shall not be infringed" is pigeon English, not Merkin English, the Kings English or anyone else's English.

Actually, I think either form is grammatically acceptable... "be infringed upon" OR "be infringed" but your other point about the missing context is amazingly significant. The first part of the statement... "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State" provides the entire justification for the amendment. But this creates a problem for the small arms industry in that most of their sales have nothing to do with a well-regulated militia. So, they intentionally leave that first part out when they appeal to the 2nd Amendment as a way to guarantee better sales figures. Of course this comes from the folks who are smart enough to know what they are doing, not the dumbasses that think the issue comes from Article II. LOL

Not even close... Obama was on the campaign trail and apparently tired when he slipped during a speech saying he visited 57 states. There's not a politician alive that doesn't slip up like that from time to time. Also, Obama was quick to acknowledge the slip up, saying he meant to say 47. So you're wrong about Democrats never acknowledging their mistakes. And you're really stretching if you think that's as bad as an entire production of a campaign ad, including the fabrication of a billboard prop, failing to notice that the right to bear arms is not mentioned in Article II of the U.S.Constitution... the very thing the candidate would be sworn to protect. That's not just a casual mistake, that's proof of incompetence.

Always protecting the moslum pretender. Someone else let him know that it was 47, just as in his interview with George Stepincrapalot and he had to be reminded that he had to say “Christian” not moslum.

lpnmajor... Here is the actual wording of the 2nd Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The billboard said "... Being necessary for the security of the States...", and the Amendment says "... being necessary to the security of a free State..." Saying the billboard quote is wrong is untruthful... Their paraphrasing caught the essence of the Amendment...

You are simply wrong because the billboard got the term "... well regulated Militia..." exactly right...

And when you say the billboard was wrong stating "... the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon..." because the word "upon" was never used in the Amendment again shows you're untruthful...

Also, you may be accurate when you claim "... shall not be infringed..." is "... pigeon English, not Merkin English, the Kings English..." however, the billboard was accurate in stating "... shall not be infringed..." because it is certainly the American English used in 1787 when they wrote the 2nd Amendment... And so you are again wrong in your evaluation of the billboard...

This may be hard to digest, but when you criticize another, you should read and understand what is written before you criticize...

Otherwise it Demonstrates Democrats' Stupidity...

Says the "person" that can't even spell Muslim -

(I had to change the word I used to describe you earlier because my post was deleted because it was apparently insulting - LOL... And yet 1ProudAmerican can call all the liberals on this thread even worse names) Oh, well - par for the course.
