It's not the deed, it's the continually repeated lies that are the worst part.

The difference between Hillary being a liar and this kind of lie is the amount of evidence and corroboration involved. Cohen says that Trump was told in a setting where several other people were there and heard it as well.

So for the right, the constant rhetorical litany of fake news, witch hunt, deep state is all being proven to be the BS it is.

Time to change gears, say okay, so he knew, it's not that big a deal. It is a huge deal, it is collusion, which is illegal to collude with an adversary nation like Russia, it is conspiring with a country that was known to be hacking and interfering in our election.

This actually completely illegitimizes Trump's presidency. And it does not matter whether it can be proved whether Russia had an effect. This is the smoking gun on collusion to know Russia was offering up stolen election sensitive information on Hillary.

This also completely changes Trump's announcement a few days earlier that there would be startling information on Hillary leaked if it can be proven that he knew about it.

No credible and honest attorney covertly records conversations with his or her own clients. That is a breach of attorney-client confidentiality and is grounds for disbarment.

Cohen said he was at that meeting and so were others, firsthand testimony that can be corroborated by others.

You'll know it's real when the spin starts, "it's no big thing", "so what, it's not illegal to get information on the opposition"......

Yes it is illegal to collude with foreign adversarial entities to interfere with our elections. Trump and his son lied about this and said Trump knew nothing about this before or after, the lie is criminal and even the president will be held responsible for lying to the public.

You think Cohen is worried about disbarment? My guess is that the white house leaked these tapes to try to get ahead of it and put a spin that has supporters saying so what?

Those tapes are just noise, they aren't going to amount to a thing. The Mueller SC is under the aegis of a counter intelligence investigation, not a criminal one. No indictments will ever issue from this debacle.

The tapes are noise, Cohen and what he knows that can be corroborated by other sources helps bring him down. Mueller is building corroboration on top of corroboration.

Question, do you think Trump's long time accountant Weiselberg would dare lie to Mueller about anything he knows Cohen or other people knows about?

This is how cases are built, layers of people who know things building corroboration that matches paper trail evidence

It has already been established that a sitting president cannot be indicted for a crime. The only way the progs can "bring him down" (and destroy our justice system and possibly the nation along with it) is through the constitutional process of impeachment. That will never happen if the dems fail to take the House majority and gain a super majority in the Senate. It ain't looking good for you anti-American A-holes.

It was a meeting, one of hundreds. Turned to be nothing, they walked away. Trump knew, Trump didn't know, who cares. If they wanted to help Trump, why not tell him about the dossier Clinton and the DNC were paying for, you know, the one from Russia!

Looks like the Pumpkinfuhrers mob lawyer is going to roll over on him! He has already said that Trumps collusion denial is a bald faced lie and that he gave approval for his foul spawn to meet with Russian criminals. We should see a flurry of desperate tweets from the whining Orange anus this weekend and as usual they will all be lies.

Nowhere has this been established except on FOX and with right wing pundits. In fact Nixon was going to be indicted but resigned.

The Constitution makes several references to what a president can and cannot do, and to say a president cannot be charged with a crime while sitting would undermine the premise that no man including the president is above the law. The likely road is impeachment first, and then indictments, and the right is blindly running on the premise that as long as republicans are in control this will never happen. If evidence of crimes by Trump come out, republicans will be called on to do the job they were elected to do, which is to protect the laws and constitution. If they fail to do that they will be in violation of carrying out their sworn oaths. Hard cold evidence is going to rule here, which is why the right is so aggressively trying to undermine the justice department.

Funny you talk about the left undermining the justice department when it's the GOP trashing it for no reason except to give cover to what's coming out.

Of course, it was no big thing.

It was Russia hacking and interfering in our election system, which could easily be seen as an act of war and Obama considered declaring it so and stopped just short. But Trump, his campaign members, the RNC, anyone knowingly doing such business with Russia as participants in knowing about this without reporting it to the FBI, let alone being a party to using or coordinating it in any way is collusion if not treason. And the only reason it can't technically be called treason is because we have not declared their actions to be acts of war.

I saw something that said a hard Trump supporter would vote for Putin before voting for a democrat, and I think that is likely to be true.

Wasn't is Schiff who had a call from Russians" claiming to have dirt of Trump. Yes, it was. His response: "Obviously we would welcome the chance to get copies of those recordings," Schiff tells them. "So we will try to work with the FBI to try to figure out how we can take copies of those... I'll be in touch with the FBI about this, and we'll make arrangements with your staff. I think it would be best to provide these materials to both our committee and the FBI. We'll make arrangements between my staff and yours on how to facilitate that."

Don't give me your self righteous BS. Who paid Russia for the dossier?? Who was given periodic updates and briefings on the Dossier. Where did the info proclaimed on the dossier come from?? That's right, the Kremlin. That's in Russia, by the way. Oh, theree's much more. More every single day.

It was the DNC and your Ho Hillary who was colluding. Time to admit it!
