Excellent way to put it. I was PO'd at first thinking this was the first time he had given up the ship. Even posted the Elian Gonzalez thinking it tied into the situation a little back in the 90's, but now I agree with you. I think he's got other plans for this problem, and at least it gets it off the front page. Lived in Utah for awhile. Being a pretty conservative state and when they go against something, wow, I didn't know what to make of it. Great post, though. That's my main thought.

Yup. I believe the MSM won in this case. They managed to get their listeners and readers organized to be as outraged as they could, and it worked. Trump was just enforcing the law as it is written and then was charged with being a monster, and people bought it. When the MSM said that "even Republicans are outraged" is when I realized that they obviously have a lot of power. If Trump gives in to them every time they do this, he will (and already does, IMO) look very weak. He tried to send a message, but he got squashed and he caved. Now the world sees that they can push him down. And now we will see what happens. I believe our border will be flooded with "families" seeking asylum.

I really, really hope so. We'll see. If he does, I'll be the first one to stand up and cheer. But right now, I'm very disappointed.

I agree with you EmilyD. The problem is the Republicans only have a one vote majority. When one of your own party votes against a bill it dosent pass.
This is why the "Dreamers bill" didn't pass and other vital bills fail to pass. It only takes a coupe Rhinos to upset the apple cart.

Trump has been in office just short of a year and a half. And have you ever seen him "cave" to use your word....on anything? Please let me know what that was. I will guarantee you he has something up his sleeve. The Left is just being 'played', that's all. Will watching closely. And you will be the first to be notified. All you need is one 'thumbs down' and you're up the creek without a paddle. Ask John McCain how that works. We need a stronger Senate (R's) come November. We all need to get out and VOTE. It will be our way of saying "THANKS" to our President for all the things he has accomplished. Paul Ryan just this moment saying, "More jobs available than people seeking those jobs". That has never happened. Or at least not for a long time.
