The GOP Congress patted itself on the back for adding nearly a trillion dollars to the Defense budget ( budget increase + contingency fund increase ), without answering "how are you going to pay for that?". Now, just in time for the midterms, they'll do a play where they're seen to be getting tough on deficit spending, getting serious about all those freeloading poor and old folks - then, next year, knowing that a good number of their base are poor and old - they'll restore some of the funding and go on merrily borrowing money - then, just before the 2020 elections, they'll reprise their play titled " getting tough on deficit spending ".
Let's suppose that the GOP loses the Congress, the Democrats will inherit the deficit................and the GOP will begin their conservative play all over again, blaming Dems for the record deficits.
