If you watch any hockey game, NHL, Olympic, or world championship, you will notice that the players all stand respectfully for the national anthem whether it is theirs or not.

Yeah, it's kind of a tradition - didn't you know that?

Also the foreign players are here because they have both the talent and desire to play here. They don't just come here and expect to be given everything. They know they have to earn it.

Again... pretty much everyone knows this, so... thanks for the stating the obvious. Maybe you can also explain that hockey players wear helmets too... LOL!

That line of thinking snowflake shows me that you’ve never been around the “hardworking mexican” when they realize that the anchor baby is coming.
I ran crews of mexicans in New Mexico in the Industrial & Commercial landscaping business. As soon as the wife got pregnant it was the last time they showed up for work. It was like clockwork. The benefits were so good that they knew they could now work part time. So take your communist thinking and put it where the sun don’t shine.
Reply back when you wake up to reality but not sooner. I’ve heard all the snowflake whining to last a lifetime.

You ran crews of Mexicans in the landscaping business? Ha, ha, ha! We used to joke about jobs like that in school, it was always the inspiration to work hard so we didn't wind up driving around in pickup trucks stacked with lawn mowers and Mexicans. LOL...

So, let me tell you what was actually happening to those Mexicans that were ditching you... When they become fathers they suddenly realize they need to get REAL jobs. LOL!!!

Thanks for making that clear... I'll put you on the list of racists that I'd like to kick out the U.S. We can replace you with a hard working Mexican and be a better country for it.

Just what RACE are people who came from Mexico?

I like Aussie rules too... I like ALL the variations of football, from soccer to rugby, though I gotta say, American football is the only one that caters to commercials. I've watched USC games where that little guy with the flag prevents play resuming until the network can run their ads. Most Americans don't notice these things because they are so used to it. That's because America has always been "business-first" and our sports reflect that. Neither football nor baseball are continuous flowing sports... the athletes spend most of the game just standing around but the constant stoppage is great for commercial advertising and I think that's a big reason why those two sports used to be America's most popular... The networks like them and networks tend to influence American taste. Things have changed a little bit over the years... Baseball, which is 90% business and 10% sport is dying because it's really only popular with creaky old farts. Younger generations have brought basketball and hockey into the mainstream and the same thing is happening now with soccer and sports like lacrosse.

I agree with your statement that most Americans have no interest in soccer, but that's because most Americans have no interest in team sports. Out of those that do, soccer is increasing in popularity, probably more than you think but you have to tune into the younger generation to see that. The rickety old men still think baseball is #1 LOL.

No interest in team sports? What would you call basketball? Or football? Or baseball? Why does every high school in the country have these programs if there is no interest?

I'm just saying hockey players are more respectful of traditions, unlike many football players. Also, I'm old-school hockey. I played back when you turned 18, you were no longer required to wear helmets.

Oh, your soooo clever... .
Do you know how many times I've heard that one? It's like #3 in your "how to talk to liberals" picture-book.

Yeah, "Mexican" is a nationality not a race... duh!

But here's the thing... I could be more accurate, using words that technically apply, like "bigot" or "chauvinist" but then I usually have to explain the language. So for this level of low-grade banter, I'm just going to assume you know WTF I mean. Besides, the line between hating a race and hating a nationality or any other stereotype is pretty damned thin.

That's not inherent... The vast majority of football players are just as compliant as any of the hockey players. I also don't think taking a knee is a sign of disrespect. The players that take a knee do so quietly and reverently as a sign of respectful protest which happens to be a Constitutional right. You can either see it for what it is, or get your panties in knot - your choice.

Ah, well I'm sure you know that NHL players do.

I said MOST Americans have no interest... Most Americans don't speak Latin either and yet every high school in the country has a Latin club. Why? because it's traditional for a school to have one. I used to coach... I remember how disinterested a lot of parents were but they went through motions anyway because that's the tradition. Most of those kids never touch a sport after they graduate from high school.

There are over 350 million of us Loki, so even a small fraction of that population is enough to support a vibrant sports industry, but that doesn't take away from the fact that most Americans just don't have any interest.

Someone pays for those multi-million dollar salaries. You think maybe it's uninterested people?

Is there a reason why this is flying right over your head?

Actually, it's closer to 327 million. Have you got the others stashed somewhere, or are you counting those yet to sneak over the border?
