The only reason someone was inserted into the Trump campaign was because Carter, Papadopoulos, and Nash were in contact with the Russians--contacts that they all lied about later. Inserting an informant into an investigation is nothing new and if Trump hadn't had his lackeys entertaining the Russians there never would have been a reason for the FBI to "SPY" on his Majesty...

Just take Carter Page. He's been doing business and had a great deal of experience with and in Russia since the early 2000's. Perhaps Trump should have chosen someone from poe dunk hillbilly land, well versed in the fine art of moon shining rather than someone familiar with Russia. LOL! And, If I'm not mistaken, the "lies" about Russian contact were instances well before Trump even won the nomination. If they were investigating Russia through these guy legitimately, then they would have told Trump. They were spying on Trumps campaign. Period.
