Exactly!!!Especially because Italian Dr said that there is an experimental treatment for his kind of disease....I'd say go for it!!!!

I hope you have found peace. You did the only thing you could do if you loved her. She would have wanted it that way.

They are worried over in Great Britain that if this worked others would want to try experimental drugs and the cost would be to great for their single payer system which is what would happen here as well.

Peace? Not really. She told me on several occasions that is what she wanted. No doubt there.

What is stopping Alfie's parents from loading him up in the jet Italy has waiting to take him to Italy? Is Great Britain no longer a free country. The hallmark of a truly free country is the freedom to leave not get in illegally. Sounds like the old East Germany, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Laos...

The doctors are right Alfie's condition is probably terminal and to prolong his life would be cruel but that decision should be his parents.

Don't confuse single payer with socialized medicine. They are NOT the same.

They tried that already and were stopped. If you have to ask if Britain is a free country, you already have your answer. Kids belong to their parents not the state. Single payer and socialized medicine are two sides of one coin. One con for the EU and a similar con for the US. Just look at all the kids Social Services steal from their parents in the US. Take the red pill and wake up.

No, socialized medicine is where the doctors and medical personnel work directly for the government and the hospitals are owned by the government, like in Britain or the VA here. Single payer is where one entity pays for health CARE like Medicare and Medicaid. The doctors and medical personnel are in private practice and hospitals are still privately owned.

Social services taking kids from their parents can be government overreach but it is not socialized medicine. Some kids need to be taken away from abusive or neglecting parents.

Maybe I'm really slow, what is the difference between the Government of Britian controlling health care and the "one entity" here is the US Government?

Yes, parents abusing there children should have them taken away. As in giving them drugs, burning them with cigerettes, etc... but never because they are home schooled, or spanked, or if you chose to take them to a different doctor, or if you refuse to have them vacinated. The HPV vaccine caused young girls to die from it across the US. Flu vaccines have also caused autism and death.

Medicare and Medicaid are single payer but the doctors and medical personnel do not work for the government.

One leads to the other and the results are the same.

No, but the services they can and cannot provide are dictated by what Medicare and Medicaid will pay for.

How so, Liberty Tree? 50 years of Medicare has not lead to anything but health CARE for seniors and disabled folks. Medicare and Medicaid are NOT socialized health CARE. Do you think a private, for profit health INSURANCE corporation controlling health CARE or denying paying for a new procedure, all for maximizing profit is any better or different?

There are no treatment options to stop or reverse the disease process. Keeping him on a vent to prolong his death is far from humane, it is difficult to understand what his parents are trying to accomplish.

Italy has offered to provide at its own expense an experimental treatment and the courts have stopped the parents from pursuing that. The doctors have already been proven wrong because they said he would die in minutes if left to breathe on his own. Now they are letting him starve to death after being denied water for over six hours. Since you have no problem with the murder of over 60 million unborn children for any reason I am sure you have no problem with this little boy being murdered and denied any chance for survival.
