Off the topic note here...My brother has called and cancelled our getting together this weekend. His health will not allow for it. Rather, his wife will not allow him, given his current state of health, to make the journey. After having spoken with both of them, I concurred. I will instead enjoy the total weekend with The Sgt. Major. It will not effect our leaving next Friday for the east coast and our visits with both our daughter and granddaughter, among others.

Try not to overdo with the Sgt. Major as you wouldn't want to miss Mack the Attack cat now would you?

I am sorry, but I didn't find it humorous at all. Too many F-bombs ruined it for me, in fact, it destroyed my perception of Robin who was one of the funniest people ever.

we are in agreement Papi

I totally agree. Although somewhat accepting of coarse humor, I can turn it off whenever it reaches the point where, IMO, it is no longer funny, but offensive. The one highly successful contemporary comedian that comes to mind who entertains at the level of the ones you mention in your post is Jerry Seinfeld. His standup routines were/are always g-rated and always funny...at least, in my history of watching him.

miss Jerry's show

Yeah, by that time, you had probably graduated to Howdy Doody...Captain Kangeroo...Mr. Rogers...or, all of 'em.

We didn't have a TV until I was in fourth or fifth grade but I watched the cartoons at the saturday matinee at several of the theaters in town for about 25 cents. Sometimes they would run all morning.

Again, I'm with Salty on this. Previous to "it hit the fan," I had admired Mr. Cosby for decades. I'm afraid he will prove to having had me fooled.

Cosby was the reason I got another TV
Mama loved the show
old racist me hated it
I went ahead and called me racist
just to save someone else the trouble as I look back to those days
mayhaps I was a bit racist
since I have changed my views and have recognized the trials and tribulations of our fellow black Americans
still have some bias against the invasion from Mexico and other South American illegal aliens

Well, uh, you are a number of years older than I. They were several years after your childhood days...mid-late 50s, early 60s.
