The one highly successful contemporary comedian that comes to mind who entertains at the level of the ones you mention in your post is Jerry Seinfeld. His standup routines were/are always g-rated and always funny...at least, in my history of watching him.

True 'nuf, Salty. But, for obvious reasons, I chose not to list him. His was a humor quite similar to Seinfeld's in that they both spoke to the humor of everyday life...sans the profanity and vulgarity often associated with it by others. Cosby, at his best, was hard to beat.

The verdict, unfortunately for him, will be: guilty as sin. He was until it hit the fan, one of the most admired people in the country, the operative word being 'WAS'.

Again, I'm with Salty on this. Previous to "it hit the fan," I had admired Mr. Cosby for decades. I'm afraid he will prove to having had me fooled.

Off the topic note here...My brother has called and cancelled our getting together this weekend. His health will not allow for it. Rather, his wife will not allow him, given his current state of health, to make the journey. After having spoken with both of them, I concurred. I will instead enjoy the total weekend with The Sgt. Major. It will not effect our leaving next Friday for the east coast and our visits with both our daughter and granddaughter, among others.
