While the socialist; liberal media, the liberal teachers and parents lead our impressionable youth by the nose in a public cry and promote their goal of infringing on our second amendment to the bill of rights; while they in turn make use of our first amendment.

To what end? The danger to our children while in school remains stagnate or increases.

What to do? Here are a few things which can be done, they can be done at reasonable cost to at least half our public schools and they can be completed within six months. Right in your own community. They are simple and can save lives.

Control the easy access to the school interior How? Build a attractive yet secure sally port at each point of entry. (A secure entryway room or enclosed area) Install automatic central locks which will lock both the entry into the school and exit from it back outside. Then secure the entry flow with metal detectors and closed circuit cameras. Make it as small and simple or as large and pretty as your budget will allow. They can be easily built and appended on a vast majority of your existing schools as well as new construction.

Increase the exit flow from the school in an emergency: Easily done one single story schools, just place a one way emergency exit door in each classroom.... Not operable from the outside but easily unlocked from the inside. Just consider the amount of time needed to empty a classroom during a class change when the students move from the classroom in route to their next classroom. Now imagine emptying most of the whole school in the same amount of time it takes to empty just one room. These doors can be added even after a school is already in place and in use.


If you can see the value of these modifications then let everyone in your community know today Write to your local newspaper, go out into your community and speak. Talk to the leaders at public meetings.

Of course you will have to ignore the naysayers who will have other goals which these ideas might infringe upon, or those twits who are always looking at the glass being half empty instead of half full.

I support each of these methods, but they are woefully incomplete. In addition to stemming access and increasing exiting, and surveilling the interior, we still need to confront the shooter, who would be just as pleased with the crowd exiting so fast to pick off a number. It still takes a man with a gun to thwart a madman with a gun, whether inside or outside the school.

Last week, at a school in Maryland, there was a shooter. An officer was in the school, who had a gun, and stopped the shooting in under a minute. We NEED armed people in schools to protect our kids. What might help even more is to not let people who are mentally ill have guns. Law abiding citizens should be able to have guns to protect themselves, but5 not people who have criminal records, mental illness, or any history of trouble. The shooter in Florida should have been in jail. He had made threats on line and was known to be a problem, but former President Obama had made rules designed to keep minorities out of jail. Schools were paid to not contact police when minoities caused problems, but to deal with the criminals themselves.Had the shooter been arrested when he made threats, then those 17 people would still be alive.

Responsibility for this tragedy 70% his and 30% law enforcement.
It's more than a tragedy, disgusting and sickening.
More attention on trouble makers, threat makers and people taking drugs for mental problems.

Manning345, I agree with you both with one more addition. That if a student is on these crazy mind bending drugs that they need to NOT be allowed in general school populations. It is now proven that most of all of the past 30 or so school shootings were by people either on these drugs or coming off of these drugs. We all had guns in the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s and didn’t experience these school shootings. It wasn’t until the legal drug pushers realized that they could make BILLIONS & more on drugging the population. Now we all get to see what the end result is.

You are stupid, congress wrote the law and if I were a betting man I would bet you it was a liberal politician who inserted this amendment to the bill. This is the main reason EACH AND EVERY bill should be stand alone, then it would be simple to read and understand (not thousands of pages) and it would be known who sponsored the bill. This is how politicians have deniability, they remain in the shadows and if the bill passes they can claim they did not vote for this particular passage. All politicians are cowards, they are afraid of the voters knowing the truth about them !!!!!!

Letter for each student from the doctor with the understanding that if your child exhibits unusual behavior the school can test for phychotropic drugs. If not find another school for your child.

The idea about a locked in area on entries is a great idea. There is a bank that I had business with for a while that had that.
Being able to get a lot of people in in a short time creates a bottle next that could jam things up.

Adjusting the interior doors is also a good idea.

Over all good ideas. As always people do not adjust to changes easy. (Like more than one may want to get in at the same time)
That could work well but any problem some one can think of can be made to work.

Yes all pieces of legislation should stand alone. But the atmosphere in Congress is not about being logical.
Comities should not be used to play games with what is in any legislation.

This general idea can be made to improve & help do away with partisan politics.
