I agree, libs dont care about our troops, thats why when they are in DC ruining our nation, our vets are pushed back, monies for their support is put in left coffers and they die waiting for care that they served for and deserve.
I experienced their deeds while i served.
The libs suck !

I've read many books with different opinions but john wayne wanted to join the navy for his love of the water for one reason, but rko said he would never work in movies again if he joined.
I believe that story more from all i have learned.
And if you have ever been shot at, you would know everyone is scared in combat.
Thats the reason men do funny things under that pressure, we all do different things to take our minds away from that thought or we would be paralized with fear, like most men.
Not many GI's will talk about everything.
They have more than earned that right and so many others.
I love and support our veterans and troops.
Hats off to the women serving in combat arms.

Thanks 2bltap, sounds like you were in the USMC, i was in the U.S.Army, but i never felt any of us GI's were better or worse.
Fighting for the same cause and country.
My dad was in korea in '50 up on the other side of the chosin reservoir at the same time the marines were there.
He was with the 10th corps.
He was wounded in combat and medivaced out of a north korean port.
My dad was a tough guy.
He boxed for two years before the war for the Army.
I think most of those guys in the service back then were tough, they had to be.
I wish i was half the man my dad was.
He was a good man, l miss him.
I hate to hear folks speak or do bad things to our vets, they dont deserve it.
Anyway, if i may say, semper fi 2bltap !

While my Father was landing on beaches in the South Pacific John Wayne was sipping mai tai’s at the Polo Lounge in Hollywood. Wayne was nothing but a cowardly hack actor cut from the same rotten cloth as Reagan who liberated Europe on a movie set and then lied about it claiming he was there. There is a term for that now, stolen honor.
So then you're actually the milkman's kid, I get it now.

What you're referring to is called "Stolen VALOR". If you're going to make an accusation, get it right.

I realize wars is not fun!!!! However, during WWII it was necessary that the American population be behinf the war effort. Anyone who trly gloifies war has never experienced it. mY own nightmares are my own truth like yours. As I have said in the past here on OPP the most horrific experience for me were the children that were in the way. Thats really all I personally need to say about this.

You mean Marion, don't you? His 'real' name was Marion (Robert) Mitchell Morrison. His middle name was later changed to “Mitchell” because his parents wanted to use “Robert” as the name of Marion’s little brother. Interestingly, “Duke” didn’t have any say in what his screen name would be when he became an established actor. When he was given the starring role in “The Big Trail”, the director and Fox Studios chief executive tossed around name ideas amongst themselves such as “Anthony Wayne” and “Mad Anthony”. They ultimately settled on “John Wayne”, which was one of the suggestions by director Raoul Walsh. “Duke” himself wasn’t part of discussion of what his stage name would be.

I believe he meant you. Bear in mind that Wayne was already in his mid-thirties when the war broke out, and the motion picture studio he was contracted to threatened to sue him when he actually did try to enlist.
What did you say YOUR excuse was?
