==================
Watch out for any dog products made in China. Don't buy them. Chinese eat dog meat, and raise them for food production. They have farm dog raising business.
They especially like raising Saint Bernard dogs because it has plenty of meat.

Saint Bernard dogs are like Angels in the Swiz Alps. The monks raise these dogs to rescue people who are stranded in the mountains of snow at the alps. The dogs are like human being. They serve as the Emergency Medical Ambulance at the top of the mountains where very few human are able to survive because of the very cold weather.

There are many of the Saint Bernard dogs left to wonder around the Alps by the Monks looking for stranded people who need help. When Saint Bernard dogs find someone stranded and helpless, the Saint Bernard cuddle the stranded to keep them warm, while their companion dogs go back to alert the monks that someone needs help.

That is why they are like Angels of God.
On the contrary, in China, they raise these dogs for food. Many countries there eat dog food. North Korea, Indonesia, and other countries nearby. Even Mr Obama had mentioned that he ate dog meat in Indonesia when he was young living there.

Can we find this poison in the food that all the leftists like to eat? Could we have put this special ingredient in Ovommits food 8 years ago? There are a lot of leftists I would love to put down, and very soon!!

Talk like that is ridiculous, it appalls me that people can't see attitudes like this as being exactly what fueled Hitler's reign, or perhaps you also think he had it right? The left would like to feel the same way about racist pigs, who needs them? But they have enough integrity to know you don't advocate killing someone you don't agree with.

That aside it has no business in pet food in any quantity. I find it interesting that many of the pet and livestock owners are legitimately appalled by the use of euthanized animals in pet food. Yet they cheer the ridiculous deregulation of company’s that allows this sort of thing to happen. The FDA is horribly short staffed they don’t have enough inspectors to adequately inspect facilities that produce food for humans much less animals. Companies who pursue practices like this should be put out of business and the people within these companies who cut corners in this manner charged with felonies. But you can bet your ass it won’t happen in the age of Trumps corporate kleptocracy. As you look at your pets and children and grandchildren remember that regulation and enforcement make sure that they have safe food to eat, are not ejected from cars in wrecks, and paint on their toys dosn’t contain lead.

Can you show us where the pet food industry has been deregulated? It looks to me like regulations aren't being followed.

I would urge everyone to read the article and boycott these products until they get their heads out of their asses and fix this problem. Not many people are aware of it. Post it on Facebook, email, the whole nine yards.

Thx so much for posting that Loki. I lost my Bear right before the holidays. Broke my heart. My son, daughter, and I each got Great Dane pups for X mas. Mine is a female named Jersey. She's a wonderful, very smart part of our family. I'll keep a very watchful eye out. I stick with IAMS and Blue. I'll let my son and daughter know. Thx again.

Thank you so much for posting this. I am a guide dog trainer and I breed GSDs (German Shepherd Dogs) to get the characteristics which are good for becoming guides. While I don't generally feed Gravy Train, some of the treats I have fed before.

Usually in the past decade pet food and treats which have dangerous contaminations in them come from China or other Southeast Asia countries. China's use of melamine led to plenty dog and cat deaths several years ago. That contaminant seemed to be inexplicable in why it was in pet food. Unlike this pentobarbital which we can see was the result of using rendered animals not fit for human OR animal consumption. Their use was almost surely to cut costs and increase profits. The melamine had no such explanation. This is the first, other than salmonella) I have heard in a long while from an American company.

Thanks again. By sharing this you may have saved the lives or at least health of pets of OPP participants or their friends who we may give a heads up to.

Once upon a time Saint Bernards were used for winter rescue. A few may still be. But other breeds of dogs have been found to be far better at the job. Herding and retriever breeds seem to be most successful.

Canned dog food use to be far less expensive than canned products for humans. But have you priced dog food lately? Although Gravy Train is a lot cheaper than most. I've seen it on sale for $1 a can. While some brands can be around $8 for a small can. Smaller than the average can of tuna. So if someone was buying dog food to eat themselves based on cost; Gravy Train would be the one they'd likely get.
