Well since I'm old enough to fart dust, to me, it looks like a tool to puncture tin cans... like oil cans or beer. Usually attached to a wall or post, slide the tin can under the point and push up from the bottom. Makes a little triangular hole in the can which you can either drink or pour from. That's my best guess and I'm sticking to it. Some cans use to not have pull tabs or lids you could unscrew.

Yep, Peewee, I too am old enough to remember cans with no pull tabs. But this "tool" looks to big for that. My son thought I should know. But I have no idea.

Some of the suggestions here seem pretty feasible.

It sure is, lindajoy. My son in Minnesota sent the pic to me wondering what it was. He found it.

BTW, spent yesterday afternoon til 6 at the local hospital. My granddaughter went to the doctor for a regular check up (36 weeks pregnant) yeaterday and her blood pressure had shot up so he sent her to the hospital and took my second great grandson by c-section at 3:45. 7lbs 7oz 19 inches long. All is well.

Taking his older brother 2 years 7 months to pre school this AM then picking my Dad (88) up and taking him to Kerrville, Tx to see his brother (86) for the day.

Hope you have a wonderful and beautiful day!

Well, people use to "make do" and maybe it's a specialized tool made from scraps of others. Let us know if you get it figured out. We can't let LJ win this with the correct answer.
