BTW, #23 in my list was one I added early on my own, and should be 'Richard Farnsworth' instead of William Farnsworth. He played the sheriff in the movie 'Misery,' one of his later movies.

One of the greatest character actors of all-time played in a lot of westerns...Strother Martin. His most famous(?)role, however, was as the warden in 'Cool Hand Luke.' He also played the gold-mine pay manager who hired 'Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid' to haul the payroll for him.

Johnny Yuma, 'The Rebel,' was played by Nick Adams.
Bonanza was a great western family show. It was really odd watching 'Pa' Ben Cartwright/Lorne Greene play on his later science fiction series, 'BattleStar Galactica.'
