While researching Ken Curtis for LindaJoy, I ran across these actors who 'constitute a dream cast for the ultimate western.' What do you think, and who would you add? The only two I couldn't identify by name were soon recognized by Googling them...Burton Gilliam & Iron Eyes Cody. They are not necessarily in any order.

1. Robert Duvall
2. Tommy Lee Jones
3. James Gammon
4. Sam Elliott
5. Tom Selleck
6. George 'Gabby' Hayes
7. Chill Wills
8. Slim Pickens
9. Dale Robertson
10. Jim Davis
11. John Wayne
12. Noble Willingham
13. Jack Palance
14. Burton Gilliam
15. Ken Curtis
16. Graham Greene
17. Iron Eyes Cody
18. Dennis Weaver
19. Walter Brennan
20. Kris Kristofferson
21. Willie Nelson
22. Wilford Brimley
23. William Farnsworth

Vin Diesel. Definitely a shoe-in for the bad guy.

I can go with those two I thought of Steve McQueen, also.

Outside of James Edgar, whom I can't identify, I'm good with the others. Were you thinking of Edgar Buchanan? Just askin'.

No offense, but I can't see Vin Diesel in a western, and can't think of one he's been in.

Time he got started, then. I think he'd make a great 'bad guy', something on the lines of 'Angel Eyes' in 'The Good, The Bad and the Ugly'. I just know he'd totally nail it.

I see your point as him becoming the reincarnation of Lee Van Cleef.

I just realized Clint Eastwood was left off the list...that constitutes a sacrilege.

Don, could you be referring to John Agar? He played Lt. Clint Cohill in that movie, I'm pretty sure...and, was married to Shirley Temple.

I can go with Bronson...loved him in, I believe, 'Once Upon A Time In The West,' with Henry Fonda as the bad guy.

It was not my list, but one I found in doing research. That is why I suggested we added some of our own
