Well if Trump had supreme power over the DoJ then hiring and firing wouldn't be the only power he would have but telling them who they should and shouldn't prosecute as well. Now so long as you conservatives held power that wouldn't be a problem but eventually you would lose power and then the other side would then have their chance to do unto you as you did unto them. That's why I'm pretty sure Trumps thinking has nothing to do with the constitution and more to do with the powers he THINKS he should have...
