Rooting for someone doesn't presuppose guilt or innocence. Is carjacking even a crime if the jackee is an IRS agent?
In some cases, it might be construed as a public service.

That is how I would view it.

On the Channel 5 Atlanta news yesterday. An armed IRS agent got carjacked.
Damn! Which thief do you root for?
He was
armed, and he let some thug run off with his car? Whoa! That definitely raises more questions than it answers. First and foremost in my mind would be why an IRS agent needs to be armed in the first place, and secondly, why an IRS agent would need to firepower of an AR15 at his disposal.

While you are asking questions add to your list: What reason does the Social Security Administration have for buying millions of rounds of ammunition. They claim it is for their agents who investigate Soc Sec fraud. Are they expecting to be besieged by millions of superannuated Seniors? Similarly the Postal Service buys huge quantities of ammunition. Each of these departments has police power and in effect every agency of the government maintains a small army.
Why? We have an armed Federal Police. We have armed Federal Marshalls. We have armed Border Police as well as TSA agents. The only ones not armed are the law abiding populace. Only we are required to be mentally fit and pass through all kinds of "May I" hurdles to get, keep and bear arms. Any psychopath hired by the govenment gets that as a freebie.

Have you ever seen the "no firearms allowed" signs at the Post Office? Given their track record, the sign should be posted over the employee entrance.
As for the Social Security Administration, they gotta deal with some damn dangerous people.

Hey, don't underestimate those sweet old ladies. The one on the left looks like she's planning something, she's got those 'shifty eyes', and the one on the right is definitely hiding something under that frock. Better not turn your back on 'em.

Saw that play on Television in 1955 on CBS' Best of Broadway series. Starred Boris Karloff as I recall; I don't remember the others in the play

It's not those elderly people that S.S. has to worry about.
It's those paroled inmates that receive 100% disability for
the tattoos they put on their faces that have never worked
or paid into the system in their life.
Wait until they lose all those benefits and payments and
are required to get a job.
S.S. will need all the ammo they can muster just to make
it to their cars!

It was no doubt a leftist agent and even though he was required to be armed, he's afraid of guns.

We did that play in my high school drama class. I played the drunk cop who wanted to be a playwright; O'Hara.
