I have a confession. I have recently survived a rather serious illness and as a result have lost the thread on what is going on in the
world. Presently working very hard to recover financially, and news and stuff gets little more than a cursory glance, then you need to debate, what is true, what is false. Long story short, I get alot of my info from this site, seeing whats posted and by who and what the arguments are. I find myself increasingly drawn to the discussions which concern faith, or the lack thereof. It is clear to me that ones faith
Determines where one falls on the political spectrum and that ultimately these are all spiritual issues. When you search the issue right
back to its source, there is God and a decision made as to whether or not He is Lord. The debates are ad nauseum, but when you look at the world, it is following the path foretold in scripture. The only real debate is whose side are you on? Who or what is at the center of your universe. Yet we doggedly try to recreate it all in our own image. Anyone get this?

I am pleased that you have recovered from your illness, I wish you continued good health and better days to come.

As for religion, or lack thereof, it is a personal conviction that has been debated for thousands of years. It is my opinion that one should follow their heart and strive to do what is right. I also firmly believe that each individual is personally responsible for studying and learning. Contrary to what some folks think, reading, learning, and studying does not lead one away from Elohim, but rather brings them closer to our Father. As for signs and other beliefs that we are living in the "end days", the way I see it...each day could be our personal end days and one should not look for signs, but strive to live each and every moment as if it could be our last.

Yes! My friend, 71 yrs old, recently died unexpectedly, giving me reason to think. This lady walked the beach near her home every morning saying her rosary, she led luncheon groups in prayer, always had a hug, a smile, and a kind word for everyone. She was a quiet Christian, a true Christian and someone I truly admired. When someone like that is removed from your life, it makes you stop and think. I appreciated your blog.

Sure...when Satan said to Adam and Eve, "...you will be like God..." it stirred that false pride. The Bible illustrates it again with Babel. Nebuchadnezzar's dream-statue was an example of that pride from the time of Nebuchadnezzar's time until the Unhewn Stone knocks it down...which is about to happen. The book of Judges is about how pitiful our collective memory is when it comes to the bitter and bloody lessons we learn from the consequences of pride and if we look around today we see a world in which we do what is "right in their (our) own eyes" as the Hebrews did then.

Anyone who cares to read can see what God allowed to happen once He had a belly full...over and over. There truly is "nothing new under the sun."

BTW...congratulations on still being here to watch prophecy unfold in front of your eyes. Hang on to your chair...it's gonna get bumpy but it won't be long and we know Who wins when this part of history ends and the next step begins.

I believe the founders of this nation, knew that without God at the center, guiding our actions, our nation was doomed. He must be the starting point. So many Godless self serving are in power today and they seem to not realize the temporary nature of their position. BECAUSE THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD. So foolish and fragile we are.
My condolences at your loss CK, I too have lost many good friends. All my goodness, when I bother to try, honestly, is as filthy rags. I can look back on all the "good" I have done, and there have been some heroic feats, but generally they fueled my own ego. Thank God for Jesus Christ who covers us with His goodness.

1) I would also urge some folks with great sincerity to not follow their hearts and strive, rather, to do what is right.

2) Studying is exactly the thing that tells me when my heart isn't worth listening to.

You may be right in your assessment of some people. But, my Poppa taught me to expect people to be of good heat. I try to find the good in everyone I meet or even read about. Yes, it has brought disappointment, but I do not want to face my maker having assumed the responsibility of Judge.

Without a belief in a Supreme Being, there can be no morality. Without morality there is no justice, Law or Charity. Without these you have nations ruled by monsters and people enslaved to satisfy these monster's passions, avarice and lusts. Something like the USA today.

I think what I was aiming for... Like modern medicine, we get so caught up trying to deal with the symptoms (poverty, crime, immorality) we have lost sight of the cause. The left is all about solving injustice, but it is their lack of moral compass that causes it.

And there is a sense in which that is correct. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt (until I've watched them in action for 20+ years, like the Clintons) but I will admit, even though I think I'm generous with my rope when I allow them enough to hang themselves I need that rope for other stuff and I don't give them so much it makes me short!

But God says "the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked." He also says our hearts are "stone" and only He can make them flesh.

People follow their hearts these days without caring which type they have.

It is always good to hear when someone recovers from an illness, and uplifting to know you're in the company of believers.

I became quite active on this blog when my late husband was failing. OPP provided an outlet for me. Since then, I have mainly limited myself to 'Prayer Team,' 'This will be my final thread' and 'Praying the Psalms.' Right now, on the Psalms, Ranger posts a Psalm for each Las Vegas victim, and I post a prayer or thoughts. Those three seem to get the usual 3-5 posters, you are cordially invited to view them. They will need someone to offer prayers because I am leaving OPP behind me after the first of the year, I have other commitments I must attend to.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention, in looking, I find the three I mentioned don't show up on the face page of Latest Digest - they are old. So, I did my 'homework,'
and this is where they can be found:

The first two can be found under General Chit-Chat (non-political talk)
Prayer Team: Members welcome #8
Praying for America--through the Psalms of David #4

This one comes under Main
This Will Be My Final Thread On This Site.... #3

"This one comes under Main"

Funny how we end up on topics like this in the political section, eh? Even desperado and some others lend a hand. And they say the two don't mix!

Amen and Amen you are spot on and that is the whole crux of the argument you either believe in God and follow him or you don't and follow the other entity called Satan.
