First thing right off the bat... If you cook on a grill, then you are grillin, not smokin, and that means y'all don't have a clue.

Typical of Yankees. They light up their gas fired grill and actually think that cookin meat at thousands of degrees is doing a BBQ...

Poor things: They actually think they won the war of northern aggression too. http://www.saferwholesale.com/v/vspfiles/photos/GHC-RS-01-2.jpg

I heard that Bar-B-Q began in the Caribbean somewhere. The rest I don't know. Only three states do it up right, TX, AR, and TN. The rest are cheap imitations of the real thing. A good brisket bets b-b-q any day.

Nice. I tend to prefer grilling to actual barbecue; over charcoal of course, but I could probably be persuaded to do a little smoking if I had a unit like that in the back yard.

As for that last little comment, there was nothing 'civil' about that awful war. It was nothing more than an aggressive campaign of conquest against a peaceful and sovereign confederacy. Here's an interesting thought experiment: What if the Confederacy had won? Yeah, think about it:

"The lives of over 620,000 men on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line are spared. The CSA is not pillaged and sacked by the Union forces. The state of West Virginia is not formed by Lincoln. CSA cities and plantations are not burned. There are no draft riots in New York City. Northern newspaper editors are not jailed for disagreeing with Lincoln. Robert E. Lee’s plantation named “Arlington” is not stolen by the US Government and made into a Union cemetery."

I see you forgot to mention that, had the South won the war, slavery would have been preserved and expanded into the new territories which comprised the majority, of what would become the United States of America.

That death and destruction was the price that had to be paid in-order to force the South to give up slavery.

Over a 150 years later and you liberals are still pissed off that you had to give up your slaves.

Get over it and do your own work, the blacks have better things to do with their lives than doing your work for you!

Had you gone to the link I provided, you would not have written any of that. Not only did you waste your own time in writing that, time that you might have spent gaining an education, but you wasted my time in replying. Why?

Nice unit!👍👍I have one similar out in the yard only not as big. We call it an offset smoker here in Texas. I also have a Treager pellet grill that is electric, computerized and all that. I rarely use it because it's cheating imo.
And I never, ever grill, or smoke with gas! It's either charcoal, or misquite wood, or both.

I'm gonna fire mine up around 10:00. I've got a rack of baby backs, and two Cornish hens to smoke today.
