I think for Trump, "draining the swamp" is really just an opportunity to fire people anyway, which I'm sure gives his ego a rush. He even had a reality show in which he fires all but the winning contestant. I remember the ads where his fat sweaty face puckers around the words... "YOU'RE FIRED!"
So I'm sure the concerns of the narcissistic fat-bag caked in cosmetics that now goes by "Mr. President" doesn't venture much past his ego. As long as he's firing *someone*, it probably matters less whether the person is part of the "swamp" or someone he hired himself.
