Glad to here your health is fine. I don't know who "wished you would die" but there are some fairly malicious folks on both sides of the political divide on this forum. And, yes, there are a few folks obsessed with how others have sex and with whom they have sex. Go figure. What does that have to do with anyone's opinion?

You're views are welcome as long as your treatment of my opinions is the same as you'd like your opinions to be treated. Fair enough?

Global warming is a loaded term. Climate change is more like it. that it's happening is pretty much a fact, just as is some level of human activity on the cause for such change.

What can be done about it is the big point of debate, in my opinion. And my opinion is that little if anything can be done about it. We shouldn't pour billions of tons of pollutants into the atmosphere because it's not the right thing to do. But, at this point, i doubt if it's really gonna make a significant difference in climate change.

Same with Cap and Trade or any other big government programs, especially one run out of the UN. It's probably far to late to really reverse this climate change, especially given the complexity of the worldwide weather systems. And Cap and Trade does little for the real culprits-China and India. It will just give US industries another reason to move to China or India.

As I said, not polluting is just ethical behavior. But hoping it stops or reverses climate change is just wishful thinking, in my opinion.

Better just learn to live with it, even thrive on it. When you have lemons.....

Again, welcome. Ignore churlish behavior from the left or the right. What some people will say simply amazes me. You have the right to your opinion even if I find that opinion to be contrary to my own. If I question your sources, don't take that as a personal attack. Some people believe anything printed on the Internet or posted on youtube as long as it jibes with their viewpoint. I prefer more trusted sources, sources that go through some editorial or peer review. Please keep an open mind.

I engage a few of the whackos because I find their statements offensive. And I don't suffer the serial Obama haters very well. Obama's not much different than his predecessors, in my opinion, and those who claim he's a Muslim terrorist, a communist dictator and a Hitler wannabe are just spinning their wheels. Obama is nothing but another member of the Bush Crime Family, in my opinion. Not much difference between either party these days. Coke and Pepsi.

But attack someone who has respect for me and others? Never.

Hi: I am the new guy. My name is Jim and I am glad to be here. This is a really great place to learn.

A few years ago I joined a political site like this and made a comment about global warming. My comment was calm, thoughtful and really just an observation. Nothing too radical about it.

Immediately I noted several lefties writing and saying how glad they were that I was going to die soon and how happy they would be when I did die.

That was enlighting, since I had said nothing about my health and they were obviously just making sure everyone knew my thoughts were not acceptable to them. I mean they were really rude.

So now I hear from someone how at this site all the posts are thoughtful and based on reason, not spiteful name calling. I thought it would be a great place to learn. I was interested to see that here almost all the the spiteful and low intellect nonsense comes from the right.

Really, what does intercourse with a sheep have to do with any of the substantive discussions now going on?

A place like this should be for the purpose of conversing and then learning. I suspect most of the arguments about the conservative/liberal type are nothing more than a simple dog and pony show. Reason has little to do with this since it is much easier to just spout nasty statements than to analyze your arguments to see if you really believe them.

Hello my friends. And PS: My health is fine.

Jim

Looks like more drama than discourse, Huh, Jim? I believe it was Mark Twain who said "Don't rely on a man's better nature; he may not have one."

Well, that sure sounds like Twain, to me!

Too often, your observation is spot-on about the 'discourse'. :?

I see you're quite new. Welcome aboard, Iggy Rat.

Sad to say, it comes equally from both sides of the aisle.

The gutter is very often...overcrowded.
