A few years ago I joined a political site like this and made a comment about global warming. My comment was calm, thoughtful and really just an observation. Nothing too radical about it.

Immediately I noted several lefties writing and saying how glad they were that I was going to die soon and how happy they would be when I did die.

That was enlighting, since I had said nothing about my health and they were obviously just making sure everyone knew my thoughts were not acceptable to them. I mean they were really rude.

So now I hear from someone how at this site all the posts are thoughtful and based on reason, not spiteful name calling. I thought it would be a great place to learn. I was interested to see that here almost all the the spiteful and low intellect nonsense comes from the right.

Really, what does intercourse with a sheep have to do with any of the substantive discussions now going on?

A place like this should be for the purpose of conversing and then learning. I suspect most of the arguments about the conservative/liberal type are nothing more than a simple dog and pony show. Reason has little to do with this since it is much easier to just spout nasty statements than to analyze your arguments to see if you really believe them.
