I like country music and Mr. Campbell was an exceptional guitarist.
If you like guitar music you will find that he is one of the most skillful and ranks with the greatest of all guitarists.
You are as right as rain on this particular subject, Wolf. Merle Haggard, no slouch himself in the field of country music once proclaimed Glenn Campbell as the best studio guitarist he had ever worked with, and in his (Haggard's opinion) was the purest and finest singer he had ever heard.
And, if you like good C & W impersonations...check out these from Haggard on Campbell's GoodTime Hour TV show...with cameos.

Life is cyclical, my friend. What goes around...comes around.
Do you remember just recently when I posted the quote, "Revenge is a dish best served cold?" Enjoy chilling out.
Oh yeah? I like my revenge with hot sauce.

I love hot sauce...the hotter the better. I use habaneros, along with jalapenos in my pico de gallo.

Awesome !
Johnny Cash and Buck Owens looked to be in their prime.
The man in black is my personal favorite.
He may have had his problems as with most famous entertainers he never the less not only but of most importance he crossed over other music tastes and of most important he was a straight "shooter" If "pop' artists of today had his demeanor and class the music world would become a better place. Kudos to a great guy.

My wife and I are devoted fans of The Rhinestone Cowboy.
We have watched his struggle with Alzheimer's and we are deeply saddened by his passing.
Rest in peace Mr. Campbell.
That song brings back a wonderful memory for me of my son when he was a little fellow. Back before seat belts and car seats we would sing along with the radio to entertain him. He loved that song! When it was over he would clap his hands and say, "sing it again Momma!" Needless to say, we sang it many many times!

Tex, a good memory. Mike
I recall Campbell's hit 'Galveston' referencing the thoughts/recollections of a Vietnam Veteran's girl back home..
"Galveston"
Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea winds blowin'
I still see her dark eyes glowin'
She was twenty-one, when I left Galveston
Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea waves crashing
While I watch the cannons flashing
I clean my gun and dream of Galveston
I still see her standing by the water
Standing there lookin' out to sea
And is she waiting there for me?
On the beach where we used to run
Galveston, oh Galveston, I am so afraid of dying
Before I dry the tears she's crying
Before I watch your sea birds flying in the sun
At Galveston, at Galveston....
