I had forgotten him singing that, Kankune. I went to Google and listened to it again...wonderful cover. The man had one of the finest voices I have ever heard. I remember him singing 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'Yesterday, When I Was Young' on his Goodtime Hour TV show. He was fantastic with anything he graced with his voice. Thank you for mentioning 'Dock Of The Bay.'
This is my favorite Campbell performance.
"Highwayman"

Good choice, Wolf. A terrific performance by Campbell with another song written by Jim Webb.

My folks were big Buck Owens, Glen Campbell, and Johnny Cash fans. My mom had a great voice and would sing them with the guitar or accordian.

Could've been. I just loved hearing Glen sing it. : )

I was just about to post this. The good ones are going, slat. We lost Greg Allman earlier this year if you recall.
Loki, the only other singer whose passing hit me this close to my heart and soul was John Denver. Denver & Campbell were my two personal favorite singers of all-time, with Merle Haggard right there in the conversation. All, for different reasons.
Fortunately, our favorites remain with us via recordings of many kinds...tapes, discs, records, videos, etc.

I never liked Country music. In fact, I really hate it. I'd rather have my teeth drilled without painkillers.

I really liked John Denver. He was the only country singer besides Glen Campbell that I would listen to for years.
For me it was, "Rock & Roll" only, until many years later.

I'll set it up with my dentist. When would be convenient for you, Mr. B
I just ask to be able to witness your pain.

Your enjoyment of my imminent suffering ill becomes you. I expected better of you. Well. Not really.

Life is cyclical, my friend. What goes around...comes around.
Do you remember just recently when I posted the quote, "Revenge is a dish best served cold?" Enjoy chilling out.

I like country music and Mr. Campbell was an exceptional guitarist.
If you like guitar music you will find that he is one of the most skillful and ranks with the greatest of all guitarists.
